Solved BSOD mostly while watching videos and playing games.

Ok, so my computer started freezing about a week now while either playing videos or playing games. It doesn't happen right away though, happens randomly while playing games or watching videos. I can't remember if it happened while doing something else. Most of the time, the sound just bugs and loops and the screen freezes. Other times the pc freezes and immediately restarts. The BSOD only happened twice, the first time it didn't even display the full BSOD screen, just the top right of the screen. The last time it happened it showed the full BSOD and I took a picture. I could provide pictures if needed but i guess the information is already included in this file I attached. I ran a virus scan on Microsoft Security Essentials but nothing came up. I also just ran 1 pass of Memtest with no errors, but i will run it again overnight for more passes. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hello squurellkiller, I will try to help you. I looked at all the dump files you uploaded. All of them are a different error codes and different problems. That is the signs of ram problems in most cases. This is what they said.

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

I ran it overnight. I got 8 GB of ram (2x4gb). I'll wait for 8 passes but this is what I got so far. Is it normal that its only using 1 core?

You are not running the memtest86+ I linked to in my post, and it does make a difference. Please read the firs information box at the top of the post. And, yes it is normal to use 1 core.

Ran the seatools and it passed both short and long tests. Will run the memtest86 tonight and post results tomorrow.

The next BSOD, please upload the BSOD posting instructions again. In the mean time, please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

OK, I ran the cmd thing 3 times, each time rebooting the PC and running it again. It says there are corrupted files that it cannot fix.

Please go to Windows Updates and see if you have KB3022345 and KB3068708 installed. If you do please uninstall them (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/24373-windows-update-uninstall-update.html), restart the computer and run the sfc scan again.

I don't have those. Might be because i got 152 important updates. The reason i haven't updated them yet is because they take forever and just stays at 0%.
EDIT: I tried updating it again and after some time it actually started. So ya i think its working.

Look for those 2 in there, if you find them uncheck them, right click them and select hide. Then install all of the rest. It is important that you keep your windows up to date with the updates.

I updated the 150 + updates but 12 of them failed. I uninstalled the 2 you listed and ran the cmd command again after a reboot. It still says there are corrupt files.

Check and make sure those 2 are not installed. When they appear in the
Updates, right click those 2 and select hide. If they are not still installed,
open the Administrative command prompt and run

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log 
>"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"

It will put a sfcdetails.TXT file on your desktop. Right click it, select
send to > compressed zip folder and upload it with your next new post. I'll
get someone to look at it.


I just realized you have an illegal operating system. You have an OEM_SLP key for an HP computer. That key is only good on the HP computer it came from the factory installed on. The only way it could be activated on your Retail Motherboard is with an exploit that alters system files.

Counterfeit installations such as yours contain heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave in unexpected ways. Analyzing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable. For this reason, many analysts won't attempt it.

My recommendation is to install a genuine Windows 7. This will minimize the problems you are experiencing, and make subsequent diagnosis of BSOD's far more reliable. Once you are running a Genuine Windows 7 installation, and are still experiencing BSOD's, we will be happy to help you solve them

Ok I know you said that you can't help me because its hard to determine the problem in an illegal windows. I am planning on getting a genuine copy sometime next month ( because of win 10 ). But I just noticed that windows is only showing that I have 6 GB of ram when I actually have 8. I ran memtest twice, one to 8 passes and one to 11 passes if I recall correctly and both with no errors. Does this mean its a ram problem still? I understand if you still can't help me but I would appreciate it of you give some advice.
