Hi, my fairly new laptop has been crashing on me alot recently and I don't seem to know what the problem is and thought you guys could help me find an answer.

Machine : HP G71 Notebook PC
OS :windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Age : 8 months

I would start by updating the below drivers especially the marvinBus64.sys, its from 2005 and by itself could be causing the crashes. I am analysing the 18 dmps now.

Hi,

Also, remove Norton ASAP as it is a potential BSOD cause.
Download the Norton Removal Tool (NRT); save to desktop. Boot into SAFEMODE - NO Networking. Tap F8 key during boot-up. Then go to desktop, RIGHT-click on the NRT icon and select Run as Administrator.

When complete - re-boot.

NRT - ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

Install MS Security Essentials --> http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Then reset the Windows Firewall to its default settings -
START -> type cmd.exe -> right-click -> run as administrator -> type netsh advfirewall reset press enter

ksthunk.sys - Microsoft Driver, so not likely the true cause. This driver usually deals with streaming - both video and audio.

The above 4 drivers are all out of date and all relate to your Dazzle DVC100 capture card, which of course deals with data streaming. I believe that these drivers were at fault in all the ksthunk.sys BSODs.
