BSOD Needs debugging

Here's my info taken without my storage WD 1.5TB HDD plugged in
If it crashes once more now that it's plugged in i'll update, Experiencing problems all round my OS.

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.


1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

2-Driver verifier

I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Ok , Ive run my modules 6-7 times once before not long ago and they were ok , ive tried them in both bays for passes and it was successful. currently im running all modules at once and they're passing. I may leave before 6-7 passes and try the Driver Verifier method. Will report back shortly with findings

On second thoughts i'll let it run for another 45-1hr and get the rest of the passes, hopefully a representative is still here by the time I post back, thanks 7.

At the 53 minute mark my memory test froze. I've dropped my speed from 1600 to 1333 in BIOS and I'm running it over again, These sticks aren't exactly the same but should run together at the their stock timings, conversely it could be my motherboard, no?

Hi currently an hour and thirty minutes @ 3 passes. The RAM modules all seem stable at 1333@BIOS.
Will run driver verifier tomorrow (Will need to power down PC shortly)

The tests last night ran for 3 and a half hours without any crashes.
This morning I wanted to re-run to double make sure and came up with this.

Currently in driver verifier, a strange problem my Google chrome App won't load as per usual, rather I'm running a portable version of a USB, just noting. Is there anything I can do at the moment other then wait for a crash?

Should I enter back into memtest and test 1 stick throughout 4 bays?, Looking for a reply

Should I try a single Sektor 5 Ram stick in all 4 motherboard bays and then we can get an idea whether it's ram or motherboard related? And/or the errors are from two different types of ram. I may just sell these and upgrade to a new kit altogether although I'd like to be sure it's not my motherboard before doing so.

Hey zigzag, I'm still in driver verifier and haven't had any BSOD crashes as yet.
What do you recommend I do?
A. Run more memory tests
B. New set of ram sticks
C. Motherboard issue?

You cant do both. wait for verifier OR do memtest. Its your call

Memtest will usually take overnight and verifier will take up to 36 hours. You can only do one at a time.

You have made 5 posts in 3 hours and not completed any of the things we have suggested. I would say slow down and do things one at a time.
