x64, I think
- the original installed OS on the system?
- an OEM
- What is the age of system (hardware)? less than 1 month
- have not reinstalled
Dell, WIN 7 Home

Can't read the dump files and when the machine blue screens, the message doesn't stay up long enough for me to capture the exact error. Lots of 0000000x

Have run anti-spyware, anti-malware and am running Zone alarm firewall, anti-virus, etc.
BSOD started about 5 days ago....

Unsure what to do, any help appreciated. Wondered if some windows updates started the issue or did un-installing McAfee start this mess.
Attached zip as instructions say to do.

Hello and Welcome !

First looking at the post itself i got an idea why is going on. Zone Alarm is notorious for BSOD. Please uninstall it and use the Cleanup Tool and remove the left over files. Then if you had installed McAfee before run the Removal Tool and clean the left over files. Then install Microsoft Security Essentials.

Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Bugcheck:

Code:
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000406f8

Thanks. I ran the system check and the disk cleanup. No errors on the system check. No more BSOD's at this point. Gonna monitor over the next few days to see if this truly solved things.
