Solved BSOD NIGHTMARE

I keep getting bsod's.
It all started when I first put the computer to gether i didn't realize that the PSU was too small and blew resulting in a power surge that fried the HDD 1TB and the motherboard but luckily the graphics card got out ok but at the time we didn't realize that themobo was fried and only reaplaced the HDD with a 500GB one because eclipse computers kept sending faulty ones back.
so my local computer shop put it together and it worked...... for a while then BSOD started to appear at random intervals sometimes after a couple of hours other times after a few minutes they got more frequent and started happening on safe mode as well!
It got to a point where BSOD where happening on the LOGON SCREEN!
So the pc shop found out that the mobo was fried and we sent it back.
It took 3 MONTHES for a new one to arrive so we formatted the HDD and did a clean install of windows the shop installed all of the core drivers and AVG and Far Cry 1. They said that they played on Far Cry for 2 hours straight and the PC ran for the entire day without any sign of BSOD.

BUT when i got it home i installed Norton 360 (newest one) and then i tried to install Microsoft Flight simulator X Deluxe edition and WHAM BSOD!!!
and nowi can't log on because it restarts or BSOD or freezes after i log in.
Safe Mode just don't work sais loading files then odd colours at top of screen then restarts, i've tried taking graphics card out no difference.
but startup recovery works fine some times.
AND and this is a big and I CAN'T REINSTALL WINDOWS!! When i put the disk in it boots from disk and starts windows install then BSOD HOW CAN I GET THIS OFF THE INSTALLER DISK.

But i also have splash top on my pc it works fine never crashes.
Please help I've been working on this since October 2010
and have spent over £700 on this thing HELP!!!1

ALMOST FORGOT

My AMD Phenom black edition has 6 cores but on startup it sais only 5 cores are active when before it said 6 where active.
plus atomatic over clocking is on.

I've tried what you said to do but windows just won't work I've attatched a photo of the BSOD that appears.

If you can, hook up your hard drive to another computer as the secondary drive and copy the files located in C:/minidump and upload them here in a zip.

For the time being, try booting up with only bare essentials plugged in (hard drive, video card, ram)

I can only access my computer if i go on Safe Mode with command promt/
And when i start my computer up it says only 5 cores are activated but i have a 6 core cpu whats up with that.

STOP 0x124 is a hardware-related error, you may want to run hardware tests.

Ram + HDD is OK
And i have a strong feeling that my Graphics Card a ATI RADEON HD 5770 is failing as my screen is flickering and going fuzzy and occasionally goes off and comes back on.

Plus when my pc turns on it says that my AMD PHENOM 2 BLACK EDITION 6 CORE PROCCESSOR only has 5 cores activated when it alwys used to say all 6 where active why does it say that?

Have you tested your CPU yet?

If you haven't, run all three Prime95 tests for a couple hours each

I can only start my computer using "safe mode with command promt" and speed fan says the temp for one of my cpu cores are -174!
That's defenately not right and when I try to start the tests on Prime95 I press ok and my pc just crashes dumps the physical memory and restarts. I select small FFTs

It's starting to look like your CPU has begun to fail or is defective. You had stated that you have auto overclocking enabled. I would like for you to disable that and re-run Prime95. Are you able to boot into safe mode with networking? If you can, I would like to see a system report so I can see what's going on.

I had a little look in the bios config and I found that core 3 on my cpu had been deactivated so reactivated that core. But after that I couldent load up safe mode with command promt. So I deactivated core 3 and tried again and I was able to start safe mode with command promt but then I tried Prime95 again, selected small FFTs pressed OK and it just restarted.
But I'm going to take it down to my local computer shop and hopefully they'l be able to run a hardware diognostics and software diognostics on it.
I'l post the results as soon as i get them.

Hi sorry I havent replied for a while.
It turned out that my cpu AMD PHENOM 2 BLACK-EDITION X6 was faulty so I temporaraly replacing it eith an AMD SEMPRON X1 cpu. So im going to send my cpu back to AMD and hopefully they will send a replacement.
Ive noticed that my PC is faster than before and that proves that the old cpu was nackerd anyway thanks for all of your help.
