Having BSOD randomly, with no apparent pattern or software/hardware use. Frequency ranges from 10 minutes to 2 days. I have used Disk Cleanup, CCleaner, SFC Scannow, run numerous McAfee virus scans, Dell diagnostic -- nothing abnormal shows. Using 377 of 680 GB on HDD.

Tried running CHKDISK on start up but this is always interrupted by a BSOD at 11% while scanning files.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Mcafee is a frequent cause of blue screens itself. Please uninstall it and use Microsoft Security Essentials & the Free version of Malwarebytes, update and make full scans separately:

Thanks for the quick help Koolkat77.

I have run:

TDSKiller Rootkit - no problems
ESET Online Virus Scanner - no problems
System File Check - no problems
Disk Check - no problems
Malwarebyes found what it thought was 2 instances of a variation of Win32/HiddenStart.A application -- which belong to Dell Data Safe (which I don't use.) I left them alone. Should probably uninstall this program.

I cleaned out my Startup programs.

McAfee removed.

Updated my CD/DVD drivers via Device Manager.

I could not figure out how to update anodlwfx.sys. Couldn't find it on the ALPHA Networks site.

No improvement with the BSOD. I noticed they even happen on the Windows login page after reboot if I don't log in.

I have uploaded a screenshot of my Speccy summary.

I also attempted a memtest86 but after a few hours the BSOD killed it. Will attempt again today.

Uploaded screenshot from CrystalInfo. Tested hard drive with HD Tune (since it's a Dell drive.) At best was only able to get through 95% of the scan before BSOD. But it never revealed any bad cells. HDD seems healthy.

The zip does not contain MSINFO.nfo. upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

Five most recent crash dumps I have checked, and all they are essentially identical. All are blaming Intel Rapid Storage to be the cause of the BSOD, which is very common.

Intel RST drivers fail. It is very common. What you should do to have a log term stability is to get rid of Intel Rapid Storage.

Here comes the problem. Your only one installed storage controller is Intel(R) Mobile Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller. Changing it to AHCI will cause windows unbootable.

You need to perform a clean install minus Intel RST.

Boot into the BIOS. Disable anything similar to "Intel Smart Response". Disable Intel Rapid Storage. Change the Storage Controller mode to AHCI.

Then Perform a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html.

Bit of hassles, but good and stable for long run.
