Solved BSOD - ntoskrnl.exe+74469 - Random Crashes every day whilst PC is idle

Hi,

New to the forum and with an issue I cannot resolve.
I have done a Memtest - all results OK
I have done a DLGDIAG on Hard Drive - all results OK
I have got all the latest drivers
The crash normally happens between 10pm and 6am when no-one is using the PC and it is idle.
Recently had an issue with overheating which was resolved by Currys (KnowHow) installing a new fan.
Recently upgraded the RAM from 4gb to 16gb
No new programs installed.
I am completely stuck - I have ordered a new Graphics Card (just in case).
Can anyone help please ?

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.

How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+

Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

You said that you have done it, but do as it is said. Take a camera snap of the memtest screen before you close it, and let us see it. It is needed.

If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning

Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

• If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
• If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hi Arc,
Many thanks for your advice.
I have ran Memtest86+ twice through 10 consecutive passes and it had no errors on both occasions.
I have now replaced my graphics card and my PC has stayed up over night (It was crashing every night before that). I want to wait a little bit longer before doing anything else as I need to see whether it is now fixed or to have another start point for investigation.
I will follow up in a few days to advise if any further issues or with the results of any further tests that I perform as per your recommendations.

OK, no problem. Like memory, graphics is also a stop 0x3B causer.
