Scan the system for possible virus infection.

• Windows Defender Offline

Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.


Check that the SAMSUNG 830 Series SSD's firmware is up to date or not. If not, update it from Samsung's website.

Ok, ran the Kaspersky TDSS Killer and it found 1 threat from Razer Synapse (the software for my keyboard) quarantined and scanned again no threats were found.

Ran Windows Defender Offline on a full scan and nothing was found.

Removed ATI Display Drivers, Ran Driver Sweeper and Re-Installed only the Display Driver, no CCC.

SSD firmware is up to date.

Will report back with further info.

Haven't really been able to test it lately because Tuesday/Wednesday's are the longest days at work for me. After I got home and started playing today I got another BSOD after 45 mins or so. Regular files attached.

Uninstall the ATI display driver and follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling to remove all the leftovers of the driver.

Then go to http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, download and install the latest WHQL driver only.

Also, in the next post, upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

1. Click on the start button
2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

A BSOD after 45 minutes of gameplay indicates a lot of factore may be associated with the crash.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy.

How old the build is? Can you dismantle the computer and clean the inside to make it sure that the computer is blowing the hot air out properly? Clean the air vents and fan grills. Apply thermal paste to the CPU. Place the RAM modules to the most distant DIMMs than the CPU's fan.

How old the GPU is? For some old GPUS, it is hard to take the load of a graphics rich gameplay over a reasonable long time. It fails due to various reasons. If the GPU is really old, say of 2010-2011, dont expect too much from it. Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Make it sure that the PSU is supplying adequate power to the computer; specially during the gameplay, when it consumes more power than normal. The best and easiest way to test a PSU is to swap it with another one, though. If the power supply is inadequate, 45 minutes of game is a real heavy load for the computer.

Uninstalled ATI Drivers, Sweeped, Reinstalled.

Weird thing is, the BSOD's happen whenever, after that 45 min crash I played just fine for ~3-4 hours.

PC is 2 years old to his month. Opened up the case my top fans were in pretty bad condition dust wise, so unmounted and cleaned them. Unmounted my PS since it was pretty dusty as well. Cleaned out all the visual dust that I could see removed RAM sticks and cleaned slots. I can't exactly remove the CPU and apply paste since I didn't build the PC and it has Liquid Cooling.

GPU is prolly same age as the PC since it was a newer card at the time I bought it. (ATI 6950 2gb) Passed the Furmark 15 min Burn-In Benchmark Test with zero problems.

PS like I said was pretty dusty, so it got removed and cleaned thoroughly inside and out. PC sounds a lot more "clean" now that all the dust is gone; air flow seems really well.

PS: I've monitored all my "hardware" with HWMonitor, TechPower GPU-Z and Speedfan to make sure nothing was overheating which it doesn't seem like it is. I've attached a screencap of HWMonitor as well if you'd like to look at it.

PSS: Those Screencaps are during gameplay, since I have Tera running while I was typing this.

Temps look very nice. Temps cannot be a problem here as I am seeing.

Plan to update the BIOS.

Get the update from Gigabytes.

Free up the startup. Not a single program other than antivirus is required to auto start alongwith windows.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

See if there is any driver updates available for Razor Synapse 2 mouse.



But, if the GPU is of two years old, dont expect much more from it. It will not be able to take the load of the newest graphics rich and resource hungry games very well.

Well, so far so good. I think cleaning out my fans/PS helped and might have been the cause. Going to mark this as solved for now, if I have anymore trouble I'll post again.

As a note, I can't update the BIOS for my motherboard because the only release after the one I have is a BETA version that I don't really want to risk fooling with.
