When ever i have high cpu usage my pc will crash to the bsod. If i start to scan for viruses it crashes because of high cpu or if i have multiple webpages running at once it will crash.

Before this happened, my cpu was overheating and crashing, but i fixed it up by applying new thermal paste and it worked fine for the last 2 months.

I looked up the error (nv1ddmkm.sys) and it was suggesting someting wrong with my gpu drivers, which is weird because i feel like this is a cpu error. Anyway before this also, i had done a system restore ( idk why i did i) but after that my windows 7 update would hang and never update, it would just scan for hours and do nothing.

Im thinking of reinstalling windows but i came here first before i even do that, ( im afraid if i reinstall my pc will crash and not let me install windows again and that would be even worse)

Please Help, thankyou

You need to first make sure the card is seated firmly - just taking it out and replacing it can help but it would be good to update the driver Sony eSupport - VPCL135FX - Support if this takes you to the home driver page go to the Video section for the driver

Ok, i feel kinda dumb for this but when i did a system restore, i think i went back to where i had not installed the video card drivers or even the chipset drivers. So that was the problem, i installed my video card and chipset drivers and it seems fine now. I ran my anti-virus and it didnt crash.

Thanks You.

Don't feel you did something wrong BLUEmate you just proved you are human like the rest of us;) and like one of our master members here who says that "There are no stupid questions only those who do not ask them"

This is one his brilliant tutorials that I think you might find very helpful as long as you don't mind losing a bit of the "bling" like transparency for example it will make the machine so much quicker and more efficient.

Optimize Windows 7

Glad it's fixed and you have a merry Christmas now:)
John
