BSOD nvlddmkm.sys / youtube in Chorme only / Games crashing

Hi All

First and foremost, thank you for any help. I really do appreciate it

This started yesterday and took most of my day. I keep getting BSOD with a message that there is an issue with nvlddmkm.sys. This happens when I play youtube videos in Chrome. Along with this, I was playing all the latest games previously (Borderlands 2, Darksiders 2, Torchlight 2 etc.) but suddenly all games seem to be crashing.

I have used system restore to an earlier date...to no effect.

I have used multiple version of nvidia drivers (180.xx, 296.xx, 306.23 - which is the latest)...to no effect.

I have also restored my system (using backup) to a state when I installed windows in 2006 and then updated using Windows update. Then installed chrome and tested....to no effect.

I have looked around in numerous forums...but haven't really found much.

I have no idea what is going on. I am using
Intel E6750
Windows 7 ultimate 64
8800GT

I am also attaching the diagnostic tool output.

Any help in deciphering this particular head-scratcher would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Your problem is stop0x116. That is video related bugcheck. Many a things are to be done to troubleshoot this issue, but, for you the starting point is to update the display driver.

Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, follow the option two.

May I first thank you for trying to help Much appreciated.

Updating drivers was my first thought as well

I have actually tried three different versions of drivers (each after a fresh install of Windows)

18x.xx
29x.xx
and to 306.23...which is the latest Nvidia release according to Nvidia's website.

But I still haven't gotten anywhere on all of these drivers. I still get either the kernel driver recovery message from the Nvidia control panel....or the bluescreen.

Weirdly, youtube runs fine on IE....but crashes on Chrome....and the games which were working till about a couple of days ago....are no good.

Still scratching my head!!!!
