BSOD -- of course, what else would it be?

Hello, I'm not very computer savvy so bare with me here...

I bought this Dell Inspiron 15 barely a month ago and it was working fine up until a few weeks ago when it started crashing with the ever lovely BSOD. It happens at random times and it's to the point where it's doing once a day. I have Trend Micro AntiVirus which says my computer is protected so I don't really understand what's happening.

Windows 7 is the original OS
OEM
A little over a month old

(hopefully I did the zip thing right)

There are things that can be done, but I am obligated to give you what I feel is my best advice, although others will come by with alternative answers. Its a new computer, I would return it for a new one. You should not be having USB problems with a new computer. It is an itegral part of the system. One requirement for most warranties is that it is returned in the same condition.

You can try to remove anything that you have installed by using System Restore. If that solves the problem, install one at a time, to determine the cause of the conflict.

Thank you i appreciate any advice you can give me. Problem is the laptop is not under warranty. Money issue, we weren't able to purchase it along with the laptop at the time so any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

First, you are not a pest. You are here to be helped and I will help as long and as much as it is needed. I will always do what I think is best for you. Now, I know that return is not an option

Do you have a Seven DVD?

You may want to update chipset drivers and bios.
You may, also want to check the hardware that is plugged into those ports.

Here is a brief explanation of BIOS

BIOS: frequently asked questions

Although an update is not difficult, may I suggest that you seek the help of a friend. BIOS is one of two areas that we do not want to have problems. The other big area is registry

Can you go back to the beginning with system restore? Unless its hardware, it is probably something that you installed. System restore can go back to before the problem.
