I receive a BSOD about once a week at least on my Asus laptop. I have been unsuccessful in figuring out the issue, although the BSOD references a driver state failure. See attached for the supporting files. Please help!

Also, I am not a techie, so I appreciate you putting advice in layman's terms. Thank you! :)

Hi Jessa :) .

The problem appears to be originating from an Asus utility, known to cause such issues.
0x9F which is DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE that happens in
transitions between power states most commonly S0 (ON state) > S3 (Sleep state)
or vice-verse. You can read more HERE.
The most common cause is a device driver but sometimes it's the hardware itself
that is at fault.

Code:
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)
A driver has failed to complete a power IRP within a specific time.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000003, A device object has been blocking an Irp for too long a time
Arg2: fffffa8009882060, Physical Device Object of the stack
Arg3: fffff80004db03d8, nt!TRIAGE_9F_POWER on Win7 and higher, otherwise the Functional Device Object of the stack
Arg4: fffffa800916cc60, The blocked IRP
Code:
 [ 16, 0] 0 0 fffffa8009882060 00000000 fffff88004235880-fffffa800acf11b0

            Args: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000002
 [ 16, 0] 0 0 fffffa800acf1060 00000000 00000000-00000000
           \Driver\[U][COLOR=Red]AiCharger[/COLOR][/U]
            Args: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000002
>[ 16, 2] 0 e1 fffffa80098ad060 00000000 00000000-00000000 pending
Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\FLxHCIh.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for FLxHCIh.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for FLxHCIh.sys
 \Driver\FLxHCIh
We can see that the USB 3.0 Hub driver is pending, but given the fact that it is the latest from
from Asus I believe the issue with the more known culprit AiCharger.sys.

Please remove ASUS USB Charger Plus:
Code:
USBChargerPlus 2.0.9.0 1.07 MB (1,124,032 bytes) 9/18/2012 1:51 PM ASUSTek Computer Inc. c:\program files (x86)\asus\usbchargerplus\usbchargerplus.exe

ASUS AiCharger:
Code:
aicharger ASUS Charger Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\aicharger.sys
▲// Rename the file from, aicharger.sys to, aicharger.bak and restart the PC to take affect.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much for your reply. Will removing the USB Charger Plus file affect my printing capabilities? I believe it was recommended to me to remove this file awhile back, and I did, but then could not print to my printer anymore. (I assume because it was disabling the USB ports, which my printer hooks up to on my laptop.) I believe I re-downloaded it new so I could print again, but of course am still having this BSOD issue ...

OK, thanks! I just changed the name of AICharger.sys to AICharger.bak and rebooted. I will wait and see if that corrects the issue ...

After renaming AICharger.sys to AICharger.bak, now my USB ports don't work anymore?

Hmm, that is weird, unless Asus linked the two.
Try this:

:orb: Start, type devmgmt.msc, press Enter.
Do you see anything resembling to the image?
Not necessarily and 'Unknown device' but a yellow triangle next to anything?
Please post a picture.

I attached a photo of what I see ...

I recall this happening before about 6-8 months ago. I had BSODs, posted to this forum, and followed the instructions. Then my USB ports stopped working so I had to redownload the programs that I had altered/deleted, and of course went back to having BSODs again ...

OK, I went to those sites and downloaded the items it would let me download for the Intel, and I downloaded the specific file you showed in the screenshot for the Fresco one. Here is a screenshot of what the device manager says now. But the USB ports still do not register anything when I plug something in, like a thumb drive, etc ...

I have tried multiple things plugged into the USB, and none of them register with the computer -- thumb drive, cell phone, printer, etc. I don't know whether I didn't download the new drives properly?

Did you restart after installing the drivers?
Were there any errors during the installation or did it complete successfully?

Please double click each one of the entries with a yellow triangle next to it
and post a screenshot of the device status.

Yes, I restarted after installation, and I did not receive any errors during the entire process. See attached for screenshots ... It looks like they are not working properly, according to the screenshots ...

I reinstalled all of those drivers and still have all errors like the screenshots I posted earlier. When I first installed them,, it booted me off my wifi connection. But I was able to connect to the network again. This time when I reinstalled the drivers, it booted me off wifi and will not detect any possible networks to connect to. So now my USB Ports don't work and I also cannot connect to the Internet. I am typing this message on my phone. Please help, as I own my own business and use this computer daily for work. I have no idea how to fix this. I have to be able to access the internet.

It says my network controller doesn't have a driver. And when I search for one automatically online, none are found. I assume this is why it is not detecting my wifi network? What could have happened to this driver and where do I get it to reinstall?

I found out that I can connect to the internet if I hook up the computer directly to the modem in an upstairs bedroom. But no wifi at all because of this network controller issue ...

FYI, when I look at the Network Controller Properties, it says the Driver Provider is Unknown, the Driver Date is not available, not Driver Version is not available, etc. No details at all to tell me which driver is supposed to be installed.
