Hello,

First I would like to thank all the aweomse people on this forum for helping everyong out! I was having issues with COD MW2 crashing, then freezing my whole system up to a blue screen. After that everytime I restarted my computer it went into a BSOD and could not get into windows. So I got mad and just reinstalled windows seven and hoped that helped. Well it went into the same cycle and here I am. My first question, is how do I get to those BSOD to post on here? All the info I wrote down was the following...

NVLdump.sys 924b4a80 @ 92408000.

Thanks again for what you guys do. Also I am sorry if this post is somewhere else, I tried reading thru about 10 pages and didnt find anything.

You only posted a shortcut to the .dmp file. We need the actual .dmp zipped up and attached to have a look.

Wow. Lot's of stop errors, heh? First time I've seen 0x116 and 0x117 stop errors.

You can search the forum for my screen name and 0x116 for my many posts about it and what to do.

Start with updating your video card driver to the latest from NVIDIA's site.

I will attempt to redownload the drivers. I took my computer into best buy earlier today (before I found this page) and they said they updated all drivers and did a clean install. I was so happy to play my cod again! I have been reading for the past 5 hours, and was wondering if this would be a issue with my graphics card being a 9800 gx2? I read something on here about windows 7 not supporting that card be it is a hybrid sli? (Which I dont know what a hybrid SLI is ) Thanks for your help, I will attempt to do drivers again. Also not an overhead issue, but im gonna dust again just to make sure :)

Thanks,

Justin

Install the latest driver by following this thread.

SLI means that you have two video gpus. In your case, they happen to be on the same card. In other cases, it's two or three cards (single or multiple gpus each) working together as one unit.

Wanted to say thanks for all the help! It is amazing there are people out there still like you guys. Just wanted to run something by you... Here are my current temps after playing COD for about an hour...

GPU 1 -80c
GPU 2 -70c
Core 1- 27c
Core 2 - 26c
Core 3 -22c

How do these temps look? I am scared the GPU is a little to high?

Very welcome.

That's fine as long as no crashing. Maybe a little high at 80 but I would not worry about it. If it crashes, then you know you have a problem. Keep the fan(s) running max when playing.

AAggghhh.... EEWWWWWWW.

Geek Squad = overpriced dipsh*ts.

Honestly... They don't know anything.

Ok, so besides doing a clean install (which is easy, and very helpful sometimes), they also updated drivers.... I hope they charged you VERY little for that. (Knowing GS, that cost over $100).

The 9800 gx2 has two GPUs. This just means it is like two video cards in one. And those temps are normal. No worries until it is 95C plus.

Make sure your drivers are up to date from the NVidia site (GeForce 9800 GX2) and everything.

I would also check to make sure it is compatible with W7 and your motherboard.

Lordbob,

Didnt cost me a dime since I work at Best Buy, but I agree, most agents in the GS are just there for a paycheck and dont know to much about indepth problems. How do I find out if my card is even compatible?

Alright,

Downloaded newest GPU driver, and it said it was already updated. So I made it replace all current files just incase there was a messed up file. I just dusted out my case and cleaned the GPU. I will cont. to post dumps as they happen. Last issue was losing picture but not sound. Then the sound froze and I couldn't do anything. Had to push the power button. The noise it made out of the speakers was a screeching noise, I dont know if that matters or not.

Thanks again!
