Hi

Until recently my laptop, Toshiba Sattelite Pro P200 has been hibernating fine but yesterday as I set it to hibernate and woke it it up this morning I experienced a BSOD that said 'Hardware Malfunction' then something about the vendor. It works fine if I delete the hibernate data and start a new session.

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 32 bit
- the original installed OS on the system? Vista Ultimate 32bit
- an OEM or full retail version? Win 7 Professional Full Retail
- OEM = came pre-installed on system Vista Ultimate
- Full Retail = yes

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 1 year
- What is the age of OS installation 5 months

Here is the minidump

Unfortunately, there were no .dmp files contained in your zip file... Navigate to c:/windows/minidump and zip up any .dmp files and attach it to your next post... You also have a LOT of out of date drivers.. Im assuming that this was an in place upgrade, and not a clean install... This is probably adding to your problems... ;)

Thanks for your help. I'll get onto getting those drivers now. Could you advise me on how to get them? And also I can't find the .dmp files in my Documents folder or my Windows folder. Btw, It was a clean install but I haven't run windows update for approximately 2 months.

EDIT: I can't find either driver on the Toshiba driver website for my model, also when I go into the device properties and click update driver it fails instantly.

EDIT 2: I'm going to try and update the chipset driver from the toshiba page to see if that'll fix them. EDIT: No, the chipset update didn't do a thing

First, completely fill out your system specs ( click the link in my sig )... Second... run windows update now... if you navigate to c:/windows, is there a minidump folder?? If not, create one... Follow these directions to enable a small (64K) memory dump..

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click System.
3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
4. In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (64k).

Okay I've made the Minidump folder and set it to small dump(128k) (no 64k available). Windows update shows 3 optional updates and they are dl'ing now.

I still need those drivers. I uninstalled the devices in device manager, ran the chipset update and then scanned for hardware changes and they are still the same.

Also do I need to induce the BSOD again for the minidump now?

So after a system restore the dmp files should appear in the minidump folder? If I find them I'll upload to a post.

EDIT: I had a BSOD, it went into setup restore or something and system restored. It ran normally and I found nothing in th minidump folder

Okay but after the crash it always tries to system restore. I'll let it crash, shutdown, boot into safe mode and then how will I stop it crashing at startup?

I think I used to have CCC installed but now I don't. I don't know how to fully get rid of it :S
Some help required in locating/ removing the Catalyst ATI please. I can't even find a trace of ATI on this computer. Even the registry Local User/software/ati section is gone.
