HI Guys

i hope someone can help me here as im tearing my hair out.

I have a Toshiba A500 laptop running Win 7 32bit, and usualy i put the machine into hybernate rather than off becuase on bootup after entering domain password it will sit for what seems an eternity before finishing the bootup.

That was all working great until a couple of weeks back when all of a sudden its not hybernating properly and will more often than not fail to hybernate properly (althoug doesnt report this) and when i go to resume the unit it takes forever and a day to get going again and then reports a serious error.

I downloaded Bluescreenview and it is reporting a 0x0000009f error and has hilighted halmacpi.dll and ntkrnlpa.exe which i presume are clues to the error.

I followed the instructions for BSOD errors and have attached the file here...ill thank you for your help in advance!!

Hi milesy1971.

Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats.
Code:
[COLOR=Red]Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP[/COLOR] (4 procs) Free x86 compatible
Product: WinNt, suite: TerminalServer SingleUserTS
Built by: 7600.17273.x86fre.win7_gdr.130318-1532
Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Service Pack and Update Center - Microsoft Windows

And upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
We need to see this file before we suggest anything more to you. The issue is detected BTW.

Well, download and install the driver for Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC from Realtek.

You have 32 startup items. :zip:

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver, SynTPEnh.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know the result.

ok will give it a go

would this be why is takes so long to startup after a logon password (its logging into a domain which it is not currently connect to - as in a work machine)

Startup entries not only slows down the logon time, but also causes a lot of issues and conflicts including BSODs.
