Hi all,

I seem to be the only one in my office getting a BSOD (it happens at random intervals, few times in a month then maybe a few times a day for a few days in a row)
We all have the same PC's and I'm on my third one but still getting a BSOD so I'm convinced it must be something I'm installing that is causing the issue.

I've uploaded the dump files using the SF Diagnostic Tool so hoping I can get some help in figuring out what the problem is. It is so frustrating as I am losing work each time

Many thanks,
Declan

Hello db001.

► It is McAfee that is blocking your network access and causing BSODs thereby.
Code:
fffff880`096e9858 fffff880`018168f3Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\mfewfpk.sys, Win32 error 0n2

Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

► update the network driver.
First, download the network card driver from manufactuer's website, Realtek
Then reinstall the driver:

  1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
  2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
  3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
  4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
  5. Restart the computer
  6. If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.
Install Service pack 1 and all the other upates.

Hi Arc,

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

I'll get started on those steps. Thing is that it's McAfeee VirusScan Enterprise and all the PCs have it but they aren't seeing any crashes

Till date those PCs are lucky, but that luck unfortunately will not continue for long. McAfee will cause a problem, today or tomorrow. All the PC's are not exactly the same, so the troubles may delay, but cannot be avoided.

Dont take me otherwise, but I'd prefer to not having any antivirus than having McAfee.
