Hi,

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit.
I bought a new ram module for my computer a few days ago. Everything was ok.
I was running Windows XP in virtualbox and when I came home later there was a blue screen. After that I had several blue screens when I wanted to browse in Firefox, running virtualbox again or doing anything else.
So I decided to reinstall Windows 7. But while installing several drivers/applications there were blue screens again. One said:

Maybe there are hardware problems because a new installation shouldn't produce blue screens. Is it the new ram module?
I know there are some drivers missing but I have blue screens when I try to download or install them.

Some further information:
My Windows is a full retail version. The mainboard and the cpu are about 3 years old. Ram, soundcard and graphics card were bought in the last 10 months.

I'm new on this board, I hope I attached the right files. Just let me know if you need more information.

Thank you. :)

Well, the updates worked, there was no bsod. But when I wanted to check my system by Avira there was a bsod "bad_pool_caller". Unfortunately I did not notice the error code.

Memtest completed 8 passes without any errors.

I forgot to mention. First I had 2 256MB DDR ram modules working in dual channel, now there's 1 DDR2 2GB module working in single channel. First I used 2 2GB DDR2 mudules but my system didn't start. So I checked the manual and read that there's only 2GB ram supported. So I removed 1 module and everything was ok. Maybe this could be important.

I could try to use the other ram slot.

Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials during the installation mse will recommend to enable windows firewall, enable it.

Finish
with this and again post back with any results.

Ok, I uninstalled avira, used its cleaner and installed mse/activated the firewall.
Everything was fine, I installed SP1 and some additional patches but when I tried to check my hdd (checking sectors etc don't know how it's called in the eng version) I received a bsod again.
