Hi there. I have SLI GTX 580s. Yesterday I was playing a lot of The Secret World and the computer was working fine. I shut down and today when I try to start it up I get a BSOD and the computer reboots. I can start it in safe mode and I get this message:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 116

BCP2: FFFFF8800F1BF4D4
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000002
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\070412-11559-01.dmp
C:\Users\Name\Appdata\Local\Temp\WER-12916-0.sysdata.xml

Now I tried uninstalling graphics drivers completely and reinstalling. Without drivers I can start it up but once they are installed the same thing happens again. I either get this BSOD, or just a blank screen and Windows failing to startup or once I got the welcome screen show up but it froze then rebooted.

I tried both cards by themselves, one of them works fine but the other one gets these errors. I don't know what to do. They were both absolutely fine yesterday, no artifacts show up on screen for the card that isnt working, just when I install Nvidia drivers it all goes to hell.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

You need to follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html to get proper help.

Also, you should uninstall all software related to your graphics card. You can do so through Safe Mode following the procedure to allow program uninstalls via Safe Mode: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/117840-uninstall-remove-software-safe-mode.html

  1. Download the drivers you want for your display card(s)
  2. Click Start Menu
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Click Uninstall a program
  5. For NVIDIA:
    • Uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver (this should uninstall all NVIDIA software and drivers)
    • Restart your computer
    • Make sure NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player, NVIDIA HD Audio Driver, and NVIDIA PhysX System Software are not still listed under Uninstall a program through Control Panel
    • If any remain of the above, uninstall one at a time
    • If asked to restart after uninstalling any of the above, do so, and continue uninstalling any remaining NVIDIA items until all are removed
  6. Restart your computer after uninstalling drivers for all display cards
  7. Install the driver you selected for the display cards once Windows starts
