BSOD on old laptop; recently changed thermal paste

Old Dell Inspiron 1545 was running temperatures above 60c causing the fan to be really loud so I decided to switch the thermal paste on the processor which brought the temperatures to 30c idle. All this was done correctly (all paste removed, pea sized MX-4 applied).

Besides this, the only thing I've recently done to the computer is connecting it via ethernet cable to the internet.

I have attached 4 minidumps from various times to the thread.

All help is appreciated.

I have attached the SF Diagnostic Tool scan.

Some other information about the blue screen is that it never happens when the computer is idle, but whenver I start using it properly the bluescreen sets in within 1-2 hours.

Thanks for your help.

Something is affecting the volume shadow copy system.
Code:
BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff8800159fd6e, fffff8800867c8c8, fffff8800867c120}

Probably caused by : volsnap.sys ( volsnap!VspCollectLazyOffsetsPass+1be )

As a first test, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Just restarted the laptop with your advice and was greeted by the "Loading Windows" followed by a insta-bluescreen.

All I could read was "AmgHips.sys" before it shut off again.

I'll boot into safe mode and retrieve the minidump if you would like.

Yes, you have this driver.
Code:
amghips AmgHips \??\c:\windows\system32\drivers\amghips.sys [COLOR=Red]File System Driver[/COLOR] Yes System Running OK Ignore No Yes
It is said to be a file system driver. So it can definitely cause a volsnap.sys BSOD.

But I dont know the source of it. I searched, but got nothing. So I cannot say it precisely that uninstalling this thing will get rid of this driver.

You may also search if you want.

IMHO it would be the best for you to perform a clean install in this stage.

No need, I already checked all about it. It originates from the normal drivers folder and of 2011.

Alright, thanks very much for your time and help I really appreciate it.

I think I'll leave it a week or so and see if the problem persists, and if so I'll just fresh install.
