Hi all,

I've just built an AcerPower F6 desktop to Win 7 Pro 32 every shutdown it shows BSOD and promptly restarts.

Event log is showing me the following for a critical event at the same time the shutdown occurs (The date on the log is from a week ago but this happens every shutdown which is once every weekday):

I've tried updating BIOS and chipset drivers but the latter are hard to come by legitimately due do the machines not supporting Vista/7 (even though the little sticker on the front says Vista compatible!)

As per the instructions I have attached my COMPUTERNAME.xxxx.zip archive to this post.

I have changed the Power Plan settings so that the Processor Performance Management settings for the System Cooling Policy are set to Passive.

Other than the above its a clean machine bar a few basic programs that are installed via GPO.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Your NI Measurement Studio driver appears to be causing problems.

Code:
[COLOR="red"]Probably caused by : NIPALK.sys[/COLOR]

It's outdated by 11 years, if you wish to keep the program I suggest you update the driver.

Code:
88a32000 88aab000 NIPALK T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: NIPALK.sys
    Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NIPALK.sys
    Image name: NIPALK.sys
    Timestamp: [COLOR="Red"]Mon May 12 22:21:05 2003[/COLOR] (3EC01041)

Please remove it or update it from the following link.

NI Measurement Studio - National Instruments

EDIT, there is a fix you can download which prevents file corruption, if you can't find an updated driver then download this.

Thanks!

I was sure that it would be in those logs somewhere, I took a peek but couldnt work out where to start. As a matter of curiosity, where was the line that said Probably caused by: NIPALK.sys in those files?

I have a National Instruments installed on the PC which I will remove!

I will report back next Wednesday when I next get a chance to try removing this program. And will let you know if this works. I have a whole suite of 30 machines to image and can hopefully do it without the BSOD issues!

Many thanks again!

It was in the dump files. I used windbg to analyse dump files.
If you have any more issues post back.
