BSOD on shutdown/standby

Hi all. Hoping someone can help me troubleshoot a most annoying problem. I bought a WNDR3700 router around 3 or 4 months ago, but haven't been able to use it, because whenever I do, my notebook will not go to standby, nor shut down. Instead of either standby or shutdown, the screen goes dark, but fan and HDD keep spinning. After a few minutes I get a blue screen.

This does not happen with my WRT54GL router (which is wireless G, rather than the N of the new router. I thought it might be my Intel 5100 wifi card (as problems with that and wireless N have been reported), so I replaced that with a Centrino 6300. Exactly the same behavior occurs. I've tried the Lenovo drivers for wireless (the machine is a T400s), and I've tried the latest Intel drivers.

I've also tried the latest DD-WRT firmware on the Netgear router, as well as every version of the Netgear firmware released to date - always with no success. Have just run a full Spypot sweep, which reveals nothing of significance.

If the attached files give any clues as to what the cause is, I'd appreciate some guidance. Many thanks!

These were virtually identical and all were caused by Apsx64.sys. I tracked this to a program called Shockprf and it's driver (shockprf.sys) is associated with a Lenovo utility. This driver causes an inconsistent power state and memory corruption.

If it were me I would remove it if possible. If not re-install it.

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Many thanks for tracing that - I'll uninstall that Lenovo utility, update the drivers and try again.
