BSOD on Startup This Morning

Hi all,

I'm new to this, but everything I read online said this was the best place to start with this. I followed the instructions on creating and attaching a BSOD zip file, so hopefully this works and hopefully someone can help me. Thank ya kindly.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

Report us for any further BSOD. There are some failing modules (like display and antivirus), but a boot time BSOD is all possible with that much garbage in startup. A closer look will be needed at a clean environment.

Thanks for the reply Arc, it actually prompted me to take a good look at my software in general. I hadn't realized I accumulated so much on-start garbage over the years. I used Revo to uninstall about half of them, and am shutting the rest down. I will let y'all know if anything further happens. Again, thank you for your help - Sheridon

You dont to uninstall them, just remove them form startup. Then they will not auto start with windows and will not run in the background for all the times. Whenever you need them, you can call them from Start> All Programs.
