BSOD on windows 7 64bit installation.

I had tons of BSOD of win7 64bit installation... after tons of retries finally got it installed... but when i run win7 64bit, after about 7-8 mins, i get a BSOD.... it's everytime... so i decided to reinstall it with another version of win7.. previously it was enterprise version... i finally got the utlimate version... so i reinstalled it.... i extract/copies files correctly but at the last step at some point, i get a BSOD... tried like 5 times still same sh1t. ... pretty desperate... i used blueScreenView, here's the dump

if you need additional info, let me know... in my previous enterprise windows 64-bit, i had similar results for the BSOD minidump.. i.e errors in hal.dll and ntokrnl.exe...

I installed win 7 utlimate 32bit some time ago and did not have any problems... but this time i wanted 64bit to use my 4gb ram fully.. i am currently running winxp 32-bit

i cannot run Windows_NT6_BSOD_v3.03_jcgriff2_.exe as i get BSOD on installation now... cannot enter win7


I am running winxp 32-bit atm and trying to install the win7 64bit in dual boot on another partition. It's full retail version. if you need additional info, let me know

one question, i am suspecting maybe it is my partitions that may be causing it.. i want to do fresh new install on a brand new drive.. i only have an external hdd.. is it possible to disconnect all my sata hdd and install/boot from my usb external HDD?

You cannot install Windows on external hard drives.
You only dump file blames a fault in your CPU, run the CPU test. If errors are found your CPU should be replaced.

edit: have been using win7 32bit for more than 3 hours, not a single crash and i have installed lots of stuff .. avg, amd catalyst, battlefield 3, firefox, etc... Can my hardware be incompatible for 64bit??? (check my specs in first post)

edit2: i was looking at other bsod threads... and most threads are unresolved... starting to fear i will not find a solution... what is so different between 32-bit and 64bit? why is 32bit running fine(not a single BSOD) and 64bit i can't even install it?? my cpu is a q8200.. my friend has same processor and is running 64bit win 7 fine

Yes do the CPU test

BSODs are system specific. Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed, avoid installing junkware and useless programs that can make your system unstable.

Your hardware is perfectly compatible but the drivers that you use may be outdated.

The main difference with 64-bit is that it can address more than 4GB of RAM, it manages memory more efficiently, it is more secure and a little more faster
Your 32-bit works fine probably because it has the correct drivers installed which may not be the case with the 64-bit version

no errors on all 4 cores... what next? memtest ok too...
