BSOD on Zoostorm Machine

Apologies for the delayed response.

The rsop report is a tabbed form so I'm not sure which particular bit you want me to post so I've taken a screenshot of the Security Settings screen under Computer Configuration. If you let me know where you want me to drill down I'll provide the subsequent screenshots.

I've looked in the the MSE History tab but there is nothing there at all.

I'll replace the battery today.

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Morning axe0/Roy,

axe0 - I abandoned the memory test after pass number 7 by which time it had logged 44,032 errors; somewhat more than the zero threshold Memtest86 advise is the norm . I guess that this could be the answer to the BSOD problem??

If you are getting memory errors try testing each stick individually and/or a good stick in each slot, will prove if your issues are stick or slot related and if you have one good stick will get you up and running until you can get ram replaced

There fine just no policies
Its more than likely now that as your comp has failed Memtest, thats the major cause of all of your probs.

When you have replaced the faulty RAM, clear ALL of the > 4 major < Event Viewer files,
control panel >> admintools >> event viewer >> Admin, sytyem, (dont worry about windows)..
Let it run for a couple of days, then have a look at whats happened.

Morning All,

Bad news. Looks like the problem must lie with the slots or the MB connection. I test the new memory last night and it started failing almost immediately. I have just installed it in the same model of machine here in my office and it is happily trundling through the memtest with no problems.

Is it worth bunging the machine into the local PC repair shop or is it a goner?

Evening All,

Sorry for the delayed response. I've switched the hard-drive from my iffy machine into the identical Zoostorm machine from the office. As my drive is set up with the stuff I need and the office one was sat gathering dust it seemed the sensible thing to do. Luckily they must have been built from the same image because it's working quite happily. I always thought that it was impossible to simply switch HDDs from one machine to another .

Anyway, memory tests are now good so all is well

Roy, I would like to get to the bottom of the updates issue (assuming it's still present). Are there any tests that you would like me to run? Do I need to switch to another board as this is a dedicated BSOD board?

Finally, many many thanks to all who have helped me with this problem, particularly axe0 & torchwood (Roy).

Updates

Hi Mike,

Its only showing a minor but annoying error code, 1 of there catch-all i dont know myself.
More likely its picked up the hard drive change. If its updating fine dont worry about it.

If your comp stops updating, then we might have to re-create the licence store, no biggy
(MS run its WUA/WAT checker every 90 days, were on countdown.)
