Hey guys,

First off, I know there are other BSOD threads out there, and I've read several of them, but I think whatever is causing my system to BSOD is different from theirs.

Ok, so a brief background on the situation: I just installed Windows 7 Pro (I had Vista before) last night and it's been running fine for at least 16 hours. I installed a couple programs like Firefox, Comodo, MS Office, etc... this worked perfectly on Vista, so I assume they weren't the source of the problem, unless there's a compatibility issue.

Anyway, I was just browsing the web a couple hours ago when the computer blue screened. I thought it was odd because my computer never blue screened in the 2+ years that I ran Vista, so I restarted and didn't think much of it. However, the system blue screened again less than an hour ago, so now I'm concerned.

Description of the problem:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: AD34B000
BCP2: 00000002
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 880907F8
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\092709-70964-01.dmp
C:\Users\Qin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-125814-0.sysdata.xml

Programs that are installed:

Comodo Firewall
Symantec Endpoint Protection
Mozilla Firefox
Microsoft Office 2007
7-zip (never used)
CutePDF
Foxit Reader
VLC Player (never used)
Intel Media Graphics Accelerator Driver

For some reason I can't attach the .dmp files. It says I don't have permission to open this file. I am running an Administrator account. I'll attach the dmp files as soon as I can learn how to do it...

Please help, thanks!

An entirely valid conclusion.

For some reason I can't attach the .dmp files. It says I don't have permission to open this file. I am running an Administrator account. I'll attach the dmp files as soon as I can learn how to do it...

Copy the minidumps to another location first, then zip up the copy and upload it here.

\Windows\Minidump is a protected system folder, which is why it's not possible to rummage around in there too much by default.

Thanks for the tip! I attached the files in a zip (2 dmp and 1 xml).

The good news is that both crashes are functionally identical, and they're very unlikely to be caused by malfunctioning hardware. Suggestions:

1) Update or remove this driver - it's the most probable cause:

Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\inspect.sys
Timestamp: Thu Sep 17 04:01:39 2009 (4AB12803)

2) Try to update the NIC driver:

Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\Rt86win7.sys
Timestamp: Thu Feb 26 20:04:22 2009 (49A65B16)
3) If the top two steps haven't helped, try unbinding IPv6 from that network interface. My guess is that something network-related on your system is mangling IPv6 kernel network structures and thus causing the crashes. By unbinding IPv6 - assuming you don't need it - you may be able to work around the issue.

Thanks for the quick response, ... sulfuric acid? Haha, anyway...

1) Can I just remove the inspect.sys file? Do you mean that I should move it to another folder for now, and if the computer runs fine I can leave it alone?

2) I'll try to update the NIC driver. (That's Ethernet, not wireless right?)

3) Sorry, but I have no idea what this step means. Could you explain in more layman terms?

Thanks again for all your help!

You should first work out where that driver came from. Based on the name, it's going to be your anti-virus or perhaps a 3rd-party firewall. Merely deleting the driver is a bad idea because the rest of that package will obviously complain about its absence. Instead, uninstall the entire app or find an updated version.

2) I'll try to update the NIC driver. (That's Ethernet, not wireless right?)

No idea mate. Probably. "Rt" presumably stands for RealTek :)

3) Sorry, but I have no idea what this step means. Could you explain in more layman terms?

Go into the properties of that network interface and untick the box next to IPv6.

Thanks again for all your help!

No problem at all!

Hy guys, I have BSOD everytime, when I play newer games like COD 5-6 or Assassins Creed 2. But sometimes it happens too, when I'm just browsing. My computer is new, a friend of mine built it for me a few months ago. The problem appears almost every day since then. I tried to uninstall the video driver completely, than install the latest driver - not works. Uninstall the latest driver and install an old one - not works. What comes with the vga card is not compatible with windows 7. Donno what to do, i just can't explain how annoying this problem is. Sorry for my english, i'm from Hungary. Please help! Thank you!

I attached the minidump folder. I saw by another people minidump is a .dmp file, but I have much more. So here it is the whole folder...
