My computer keeps randomly crashing and rebooting itself with the bsod and recently its becoming more frequent. Its happened a couple of times during gameplay but mostly when opening web browsers. I have been able to view the text for longer as they become more frequent (takes longer for them to load and crash) and the last 2 were dxgmms1 whatever that is drivers? i have updated my gfx card to latest drivers as well as mouse and wireless adapter because thats what the windows driver update programme came up with first.

i have run the windows memory diagnostic tool but once complete it wouldnt restart the 'starting windows' was just hanging without the windows icon?

would provide minidumps but files cannot be attached because administrator protected? the only folder in windows that is!

please please help

thanks in advance

Shawn

Remove TuneUP Utilities since it could have messed up your system
Windows 7 does not need any 'TuneUp' software or whatsoever related utilities
Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Test your Graphics Card

Old versions of ASACPI.sys are huge causes of BSODs

Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "
ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2004)

Code:
ASACPI.sys 0x9744e000 0x9744f420 0x00001420 0x411c2d04 13/08/2004 06:52:52

hi yowanvista,

uninstalled tune up utilities, run sfc /scannow, tested graphics card with outcome attached in zip folder, ran memtest 86+ with 7 passes and no errors. not sure if the asustek driver is necessary as looking through the pathway you have posted the file is date stamped 2009 (not sure where you for the 13/08/2004 from)?

View attachment OCCT.zip

If the graphs shown are normal can you suggest anything else? running out of ideas now. had a 2 or 3 BSOD's today all with the same dxgmms1 stated.

Thanks alot so far for your help

Shawn

Upload any new dumps, dxgmms1.sys crashes are caused by the display driver/unresponsive video card.

thanks,

Your latest dumps show 2 critical windows files bing involved in crashes, these will never cause problems unless being triggered by a hardware error such as a fault in the CPU.

Run Prime 95 to test your CPU. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results.
Note that this test may overheat the CPU, ensure proper cooling

Are you overclocking?
Code:

Install the latest AMD driver, ATI Catalyst
If that doesn't solve the problem swap the graphics card in another PC and try to replicate the issue, your graphics card could be at fault.
