Solved BSOD or crash when entering or leaving sleepmode

Almost every time I enter or leave sleepmode it crashes it also has shown a BSOD a couple of times. it worked fine untill last week after my antivirus refused to start anymore(avg, don`t know if that was the problem) I unistalled AVG and installed microsoft security essentials for the time being. A short while after this incident these proplems poped up. I searched for solutions but couldn`t find the anwser so I thought I`d post it myself.

My laptop is like 4 months old and had windows 7 home premium installed when I bought it and didn`t reinstalled it myself.

please help me i`m beginning to be desperate.

This crash is due to the system sending a device driver the signal to turn itself off or turn itself on during a power cycle such as during sleep, hibernate, shut down, or startup. The device or device driver failed to respond to the signal and so the system crashed to force the power state. The most common components to cause this are network adapters or display card adapters. Could be caused by either the devices themselves or their drivers.


Update/re-install your wireless network adapter first since pci.sys is often blamed when the adapter is the culprit. If it is already up to date, re-install because the current driver may be corrupted. Also, do the same for your display card adapter.

When updating or re-installing drivers, use the following steps.

1. Click Start Menu
2. Right Click My Computer/Computer
3. Click Manage
4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
5. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
6. Right click the device
7. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
8. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
9. Restart your computer
10. Install the latest driver for the device once Windows starts.

Alternatively:

1. Login as an adminstrative user.
2. Click Start Menu
3. Click Control Panel
4. Click Hardware and Sound
5. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
6. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
7. Right click the device
8. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
9. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
10. Restart your computer

you were right I did a search on drivers for my wireless conection but it said that the latest drivers were installed. So I also looked at my display card (amd radeonHD 6520G) my screen went black and then it reported that the newst driver was installed. I hope it`s solved my problem I`ll use for a day or so and if I can`t find any problems anymore i`ll post it here.

No problem. Make sure to re-install the wireless network adapter driver if you have any more problems. As I said, it could also be a case of driver corruption causing the issues.

I ran it a day like I would normaly also puting it in sleepmode and awakening it again and all went well I think the problem is solved.
