BSOD on my PC started around 2 weeks back. I dont remember making any major changes in computer either hardware wise or software wise. Anyhow imy PC comes up with a BSOD after i work for a while on it, mostly browsing net. No gaming.
And sometimes the PC restarts on its own, but it will again go to BSOD soon. Sometimes it will restart but wont boot. I can hear the fan running etc sounds, but nothing on the screen ie. no booting. Then i need to wait for few hours till it has to become normal on its own. PLs find the image and the log file.
thanks in advance

System freezes all on a sudden. No BSOD.Aftr that doesnt boot 4 a while

Previously i had BSOD problem. But that was corrected. Thanks to http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/346369-bsod-pfn_list_corrupt.html

It worked well for few weeks. No issues

Now the computer boots up normally. Then after working for few time, may be an hour - usually browsing net, it suddenly freezes. No mouse pointer moving. No response from sytem. And thescreen is still on, but on a freezed condition. Sometimes i can see it pixelises (coloured pixels appearing) here and there on screen.
Then I have to switch off the power supply. Then after that it doesnt boot at all.

Then usually if i remove CPU cover and then fix RAM properly or remove and insert RAM, i can see my system boots up and functionally normally after that for a while. But problem persists . Kindly help.

I have the SF diagnostic tool result attached.
Thanks!

Hi sachu21.

You should not have two running threads in the same section. We will merge these two threads for a better documentation of the issue from the beginning.

What you have stated looks like a display issue. The computer is old, almost 6 years. So there are chances that it may behave in this way.

Dismantle the computer. Clean the inside very carefully without breaking anything. Clean all the air vents and fan grills so that it can blow the hot air out effectively.

While re-seating, apply new thermal paste to the CPU.

Also, as you are opening the computer, check the wattage of the PSU. Let us know it.

If you cannot do it, get it done from a local shop. They may take some charge for doing it.

Let us know the situation after doing it.

300 Watts only.

View attachment 337975

Too poor. It is never a good PSU. Get a new one of at least 600 watts.

A PSU is the most important piece of the hardware. Never use a China made or local made one. Opt for Cooler Master.
Corsair is a good choice, too.

If you cannot do what is shown in the video yourself, get it done by somebody who can.

If i buy it online, can i myself will be able to replace the component? or technical assistance will be required?
Can you seat a computer?
PSU spreads the wires to many a places and it should be done perfectly. If you can do it, go for it. Or take the help of a local tech.

what all problem can happen if i continue with the same PSU?
Not only the chance of present BSODs will continue, but also hardware erosion will continue.

Both of us (boozad and me) opted for Corsair ... there is a good reason. :)

The gigabyte one will be compatible there, but corsair or cooler master will be better choice, IMHO.
