Hello,

I started getting the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error when playing AvP 2010. I can go on playing for several hours before this occurs, but occur it does. I have the latest drivers installed for all of my HW. I never got this error before playing any other game. My CPU is slightly overclocked, but it was stress tested with Prime95 for 24 hrs when I originally did it and it was stable.

Dumps attached. Thank you!

PS
I also already ran sfc /scannow and got 100% verified:
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I also tried looking at the debug dump file with WinDbg and the tutorials. I downloaded the symbols files and setup the path correctly. But there are two options for symbols download, 1 is x64 retail and the other is x64 checked symbols. I downloaded both and gave 2 paths for them separated by a semicolon ';'. But the result of WinDbg is a little confusing, it doesn't state any drivers or anything. I'm using the full memory dump file, memory.dmp.

Here's a link to my memory.dmp result:
windbg.dmp - Pastebin.com

*Update: Just figured out the symbols and used the SRV*C:\SymCache*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols setting. Now it works like it should. But still the same result I posted. So I went ahead and switched the option to make a mini-dump, 256kb file, which is what seems like the most popular option around here. I'll try disabling overclocking entirely and see if that helped. Will post back.

There's no minidumps in the zip file, upload them here if you still need help.

Yes, I know. The reason is that my dump settings were set to dump a full memory dump. So I have a memory.dmp file which is over 600mb. I posted it above on pastebin. There are no mini dumps, but I have set it to make them instead of a huge file. I have removed overclocking and was testing last night. No crashes yet. As soon as I get one, I'll post the mini dump.

*update: Well played AvP 2010 for a few hours now, no crashes today and no crashes last night for another few hours, which leads me to think it was the overclock. I had it set to 3.7 Ghz from 3.2. It ran just fine in most games, but AvP for some reason. I will try overclocking to 3.5 GHz and see how it does with that setting. Because I have enough cooling, and the Black edition of the Phenom, are known to be easily overclockable to that level. I upped the voltage correctly and everything.

**update 2: Ok so played almost entire day of AvP today, no crashes at all. Managed to run stable at 3.5 Ghz and lowered the voltage on the CPU and NB/SB. Will post back.

*** update 3: Please don't close the thread just yet, everything seems good so far I haven't had any crashes. The problem seems to have been caused by overclocking, specifically over voltage. Thanks to everyone here, I learned a great deal in the process.

**** update 4: The problem is fixed I think. Haven't had any more crashes since I downclocked my CPU speed a bit and lowered the voltages. Thanks again!
