Yup another grand 124. I've been trying to trouble shoot this for a couple of weeks now and finally got windows to BSOD me so I could get some kind of diagnostic on it.

What happens is that after about 30-40 mins of play on something like CIV5, Skyrim, Everything will suddenly go black, with a Sound loop and usually I have no video afterwards. At first I thought the PC was just crashing and not coming back but today it happened it gave me a BSOD without any Video and then rebooted. Once it rebooted my PCIE card failed to come up, until I rebooted it again where then it gave me the BSOD notice.

The Card I've had since about december, and originally Once I plugged it in my Northbridge on my other motherboard started overheating and I couldn't get it down so I recently upgraded my main components to what they are now in my system setup on the site.

I've attached the required Grab all from your tool.

Yup First thing I did was cool it check all connections. Verified it wasn't the ram thru Winmemory the windows version of the tool the windows memory checker the dos version and the memory test + , Like I said I've been troubleshooting this for a while.

Verfied I had good heat flow even went out and bought a new CPU fan since the one I had in there originally was pretty old. Nice and cool in there now.

I don't overclock my Equipment it shortens their lifespan. Infact I tried under clocking my Graphic card seeing if that might fix the issue as once I read about something similar where it actually fixed it. Not my luck though.

I did vanilla reinstall of Windows 7 , and World of warcraft actually runs without a problem now but other more graphic intensive games give me heartache.

My thoughts I'm thinking this is either a video card issue because when my system rebooted the video card was non operational and I had experienced that with a prior video card that I had to rma. But the Error being in the kernel system lends me to think maybe it's a setting in the Bios of the motherboard.

When I went in to troubleshoot A lot of acronyms in there I hadn't seen before(need to brush up on my software hardware terminology)

also what are the chances of a headset causing this crash while playing a game? Just pondering now May have to try and roll my games without the headset. it's an earforce X12 there's a Kink in the wire though so one side shorts out now and then.

I would suggest removing Panda Cloud Anti-virus, and as an alternative install:

:ar: Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability
compared to other antiviruses/internet security software.

   Note
Once downloaded, update and run a full system scan

Run chkdsk in an elevated command prompt in order to
check for file system errors and bad sectors on your HDD:

  • Click on Start>Type in search cmd

Don't shout...I've got a Hangover!
I had ran the prime95 stress test last night for about 30+ mins and it really didn't cause anything. i do have my older Vid card i can swap out and Yeah I'll see if swapping out the Panda anti virus helps. Also it was happening alot when I had avast installed. (after the vanilla i swapped to panda) The Temps on the stress got up to about 86 average it was about 70. and quickly shot back down. the Thermometers stayed only up to about 40degrees during the test and then while idling it fell to about 0-14 degrees. So I do find that peculiar. I couldn't get the Coretemp program to run during the Stress test (ran the 2 first ones) my Fan Im using is the
COOLER MASTER GeminII S524 So I have a decent size heatsink/fan though I had to swap out the fan on the heatsink already because it had been known not to perform as specified.

I'll try the intelburntest and the video stress test tonight when I get home. I will also swap to the older vid card and see what happens ontop of all that. (you know it's always easier to troubleshoot with fresh ideas!)

Alright Finally completed. I double checked everything Including reapplying the paste to my CPU. The CPU stayed at a steady 63.3 degrees. Max temp for the A10 shows to be about 75degree

The GPU Burn-in I noticed that the TEMP of the GPU would slowly climb thruout the course of aabout a 5 min time frame. 45-47 and would slowly slow down. the fans never really increased in speed.

The Prime95 again showed about 63Degrees on the CPU.

So I went to try and get it to do it again. after all the testing to see if I could catch any more details. Low and behold I missed a vital point. The sound is out as well as the Video when the PC comes back (I know windows has started again because I watch the light to see it's pattern of when windows starts)

Nope doesn't exist in safe mode because it only happens while I'm gaming and I really can't run Civ 5 and skyrim in safe mode because it requires drivers and stuff that doesn't load in safe mode... Anyways been trying new and different things.

First thing I am doing is I pulled out my Turtle Beach X13 with the gammy left speaker to see if that would fix it. So far even as I write this I've had no problem with shutdowns. So leads me to believe A. USB port B. Headset. I gues the next plan of attack is to drop in something other then the headset into the USB ports and see if it crashes again.

Actually Plugged a USB HDD into one of the ports. The moment I did crash. (wanted to know if it was the Front USB board or the motherboard connection side) So to further test I opened the case the MOBO has 2 USB ports. unplugged one and plugged into the other. Seems USB1 on the Mobo was a bad connection. Probably a faulty soldering job since the USB2 port is working fine. Guess from this point I can bug Biostar and go thru their redtape or simply check all the soldering connections myself. Thanks for the speak thru guys. I doubt I would have wrenched this out on my own.
