Quick question
Trying to do a clean install of the current driver did not work due to me not having my graphics card mounted.
When i eventually mount the card, Should i try to boot normal and install, or boot safe(with or without network) and install the drivers?

The driver won't install if the card isn't present, that will have to be done when the card is back in.
Try booting into normal mode when you've reinserted the card, ultimately that's what we need to happen. Then install the driver.

Did Windows install a driver for the card when you booted into normal mode?

No it didn't install anything actually.
EDIT: im assuming you're tlaking about the graphics adapter, and i don't think it installed unless there's a way to check in safe mode for it
EDIT2: I managed to uninstall the drivers from 2013 and rebooted the PC into normal mode. When i logged in again, i waited a few minutes, and it automatically downloaded some drivers (i don't think it was through windows update, but just incase i still have windows update download/install disabled). The installed drivers gave me BSOD twice before i decided to boot into safemode again.
i will attach the DM logs, but im assuming i've got the same issue as before.

I think it's safe to say that there's a problem with the card itself. Do you have a friend or relative who could let you use their GPU for testing purposes?

At the moment i'm not close to anyone no. i might be able to get a hold of a gtx9600-9800 but not quite sure if i still have that.
i guess i'll try to buy a new one in worst case scenario, but im not sure if i have a good enough PSU (550W) or enough RAM for one of the newer ones.
i'll report back tomorrow or in a few days if i manage to acquire one and test it.

The PSU should be adequate depending on the make/model. Do you have warranty left on the GPU?

The GPU is from 2011 i believe so i don't think i have any warranty left on it.

That PSU should be fine, if you can boot into BIOS and check the 3.3V, 5V and 12V rail and post back the results that would be good. To be honest I'm leaning towards the card here.

The voltages look good, the last thing I can think of to prove it is the card would be to try it in someone else's machine if that's possible?

Hey Boozad, reporting in.
I haven't been able to try my card out in anyone elses PC, so i just bought a new card and tested it.
I just switched the card out for a EVGA GTX 750 card and it seems like the PC is back to normal (i think, been running for 30 minutes).
I will leave it on for a day or two, (bring back all my autostart settings and such) and then i think we can mark this as solved.

Good to hear, the 750s are great little cards and well worth the money. I'm glad everything seems to be working as it did seem the card was to blame beyond any reasonable doubt. Keep us posted mate.
