BSOD playing DotA2, error 0x00000050 & 0x00000101

Title says it all. I read the 101 error code is faulty hardware (usually RAM). So I used a different RAM and the BSOD still happened. I re-installed DotA2 and Steam. I updated all my drivers. I updated my BIOS. I ran a memory test which passed (although i have handled the RAM since the mem test, i doubt it was shorted out since then as I am very careful of grounding myself.) The BSOD happened once maybe twice last week, but now it's happening multiple times in a single match (which averages an hour).

As per the zip you uploaded, the latest BSOD was of 23/10/2013.

Checking it may not give any hint about the current situation, as it is old. Moreover, it was caused by the USB driver (Asmedia XHCI, I think), which was remarkably old.

Cannot check the current situation, due to lack of data. But, depending on your statement that you uploaded all the drivers. So the issue should not remain there.

Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

I can confidently tell you that the browsers, apps, and games cannot be the root cause of this problem, even though I don't doubt your observation that the operation of certain software seems to more easily trigger the crash. What you're looking for will be in one of the following categories:

a) BIOS bug
b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...)

What you already have done:

• You updated the BIOS.
• You updated the drivers (have to look at this part once again, after obtaining recent dumps)
• You ran memtest86+, as you said. For how many passes? It is to run at least 8 passes.

So I suggest you to do these .....

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.
** it will not eliminate the chance of a failing PSU. Later, if needed, it may be needed to swap it with a known good one.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/311593-speccy-publish-snapshot-your-system-specs.html .

Are you overclocking? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings. Also set the BIOS to default, too.

Let us know the results. And be aware that stop 0x101 BSODs may need a lot of work and time to identify the root cause. So be patient please.
