BSOD Playing Empire & Napoleon: Total War - Locale ID: 2057

Hello all,

I have been experiencing blue screens of death while playing both 'Empire: Total War' and 'Napoleon: Total War'.

This often happens when I leave the game inactive for a few minutes. Strangely, the game tends to work fine as long as I do not stop playing it. This includes just leaving the game on the main menu screen.

First the screen goes black for a few seconds (Monitor shows no input), and then there is a long strained beep noise similar to a rapid-fire stop sound, and then the machine restarts.

Drivers are supposedly up to date. I have experienced this problem for several weeks since installing both games and so I cannot pinpoint a time when this began. Other games are fine. I therefore think it is something to do with the Graphics or Sound cards/drivers.

I have followed the instructions. Please also find below attached below the most recent crash log (A few minutes ago - Sitting idle at the games main menu).

Edit: My profile on this website is a little out of date. THe machine in question runs Windows 7 64bit Ultimate.

The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
Make sure you tick the Uninstall C:/AMD and C:/NIVIDA folders while you are in DDU when you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! This is the guide for DDU: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/367109-display-driver-uninstaller-how-use.html
