Solved BSOD playing FSX or FSX SE, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION ,err 0x0000003b

Last several weeks when I play Flight simulator X or FSX Steam Edition after 10-20 minutes of playing I got BSOD in half of flights (not allways but very offen).
For all other it works fine.
I start ASN (Active sky next), vPilot , CAV acras, and FSX.
Last several weeks was update of ASN, vPilot and FSUIPC.
Before that updates BSOD was appear cca. once in six month.
I have make alot of tests (memtest86, disks, heavyload,.. all pass ), drivers are updated, but I can't get it. I suspect on vPilot when it is online (conected to VATSIM)
I have no more idea , and I am very desperate.

Please try to update the driver from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html And please try to do it this way I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

Also Please explain why you have a 7900 and a 5450 in the computer.

A 0X124 is a generic hardware failure code. It gives no information as to which piece of hardware it is. Or it is possible you have a very bad driver which is causing some piece of hardware to act in unexpected ways. The next dump is the one I am most concerned about, and could explain the 0X124 code above.

In my opinion, from a debugging perspective, a memory error is the worst error you could have. That is because it will cause a BSOD and will get blamed on everything else. So I would like to address that first. Bad memory will make every dump file unreliable. I realize you said you have already run memtest, but I would like you to do it again, but do it this way.

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes at the same time or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes all run at the same time to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask​

Thanks I will do as you said. Ihave 2 video cards because I have build home cocpit and have 5 monitors conected. On old pc everythihg works fine and on new first 6 months alsov. Than starts BSOD.

It may work, but it does not seem right, to me. You have 2 cards which are 2 generations apart. one is way more powerful and faster than the other. I would also like you to monitor temps on both cards at all times.

On power video card is connected 3 monitors ( 2 others are connected on other card) of witch 2 are connected in primary display on
witch is rendered main screen (pilot view) and for that is needy alot of GPU power. On others are
only gauges and for that there is no need for much power ( is cheaper).
This all is configurated with catalist centar and worked fine until last 2 weeks.

I can't say that will actually work like Steve mentioned you can't mix 2 different types of Generation GPU's together simply no way possible there is a scaling chart for this i am under suspicion that it worked just because but most likely you should be having more bsod's and more often if that is your set up

I also wouldn't have any idea how such a set up would work i googled it and nothing you may be the ver first to crossfire by accident lol

Hi.

1. This two cards not work in crosfire.
2. Tonight I made memtest and get mem error. I will test once more but I think I shoud replace mem moduls.
It has sence . After some time of paying it takes more and more memory and higher mem address are taken.
Here is a picture of screen.
When I run first time mem test I have interupted it after one pass (cca 1 hour) witch was ok.

Test the sticks 1 at a time, in each slot. Keep track of which stick and which slot. A bad stick of ram should error out in each slot, which would mean the ram is bad. If a stick passes in all slots except for one, that would show that you have a bad dim slot on your motherboard. What we need to know now is whether the ram is bad or the motherboard is defective.

Did you download the test from Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool? If not, use the test from there to run the tests.

I m doing what you said. Stick by stick , slot by slot. It takes time and I will report results.

Trust me, I know the aggravation. I have been exactly where you are and had to do the same things, numerous times. But, it is the only way to know whether it is bad ram or a bad Motherboard Dimm slot. The odds are that it is the ram, but I have had a few that it was a bad dim slot. One board I ran memtest at least 30 times. It would run any stick of ram in any slot with no problems, but it would not run 2 sticks together. that was with 4 X 4 GB sticks, which takes around 20 hours to run 8 passes. So, I understand, but it is the wise thing to do. Just keep me posted and let me know the results. It is much more likely it is the ram rather than the board, but you want to know for sure or you will replace the ram and be right back where you are now.

I'm another one who has went through the hell of testing ram and ram slots. (32gigs and 8 slots)

Just make a big pot of coffee and go for it.

Hi,

I have tested bouth moduls of 4GB one by one in all slots and every time after 4- 8 hours the errors appeared.
For one dim one error and for another three errors. I have reclamated this two simm and took cheeper two simms for a period until they resolve my reclamation(I suppose they will test memory too). Now I m testing this new simms.
My question is : Memory is only ok when there is no error in testing cca 8-10 hours or it can appear one or two errors ?
I think there mast not appear any error that we can take that memory as ok.
I will report what will happend.

Hi,
The test with replacment memory (1600MHz) was success. There was no error after 10 hours (10 pass).
When I get my speeder memory (1866) I will repeat the tests.

Good news, that's great. Now, with the memory fixed, see how your computer runs and that you get no more BSODs. Once you believe that your problem is solved, please mark this thread as Solved. In the future, please be sure you download the test from Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool. That is the best, most accurate test we have. Congratulations on resolving that issue, I suspect you will have many fewer problems now.

Of course I have download memtest86+ as you said. I allways listen people who has a lot of knowledge and expirience.
I m IT man (developer, sql , admin for mini and midle systems) and know a lot and know there is much more what I do not know.
Once upone time I was better with hardware and drivers.
I was not suspected on memory because only I and when I run fsx and add-on there is BSOD (my wife newer, she use ms word). Now all have sence.
Just give me 2-3 days to check system and to flight two flights and I will mark that as solved and buy you a beer.

I did it and tested but there is still problem of BSOD. Now I have problem when booting , no picture on monitor, restart, no picture, ... , have picture,... So I decided to reinstall windows and all apps.
