I'm getting BSODs at random. Sometimes I can play Skyrim for 15 minutes before it crashes, sometimes over an hour. Sometimes it won't crash at all while browsing. Sometimes it will BSOD on the desktop while I'm not doing anything.
Sometimes its an DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error, sometimes its a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. Windows always blames a video driver. They're up to date as far as I can tell.
I have attached a readout of my dxdiag and the .zip file from the diagnostic tool.

I will forever be in the debt of the man who can fix this. I'm going out of my mind here.

EDIT: I almost forgot to include- ran the the Memtest86 tool, it did not return any errors or problems.

A search revealed that you are using nForce as the chipset driver, and that includes nvstor.sys as the storage controller driver. You need to try to update nForce, as it contains not only the storage controller, but also network controller and a lot of other vital drivers.
Code:

Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, search for nForce, as per your motherboard's chipset specifications.

Apply the latest version of nVidia display driver.
You may download it directly, from our forum link http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/602-latest-nvidia-forceware-video-drivers-windows-7-a.html; or you may opt for the Option 2 of Drivers- Download NVIDIA Drivers for “Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products” (it requires java installed).

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
The BIOS is very old.
Code:
BiosVendor = Phoenix Technologies, LTD
BiosVersion = 6.00 PG
[COLOR=Red]BiosReleaseDate = 03/09/2007[/COLOR]
SystemManufacturer =  EVGA
Get the BIOS update from Nvidia/EVGA.

Let us know the results.

Excellent advice

I performed everything on your list, with the exception of the BIOS, and the BSODs have become much, much more infrequent now. The computer will crash maybe every 2 hours or so while gaming- certainly still not ideal but more than useable (Skyrim machine, el oh el.) It no longer crashes while browsing, or at least it hasn't yet.

Once I have a working DVD drive, I'll be sure to update the BIOS. This has been a great help. Thank you very much for this advice.

ptmoore, from your reply it appears that your issue is not totally over, which is not good.

Though you have the BIOS update pending, you may upload the latest crash dumps to be analyzed .... if they come out with some more things to be concentrated on.

And, best of luck :)
