Solved BSOD playing LOTRO on custom PC

Hello,

I've been getting frequent BSODs lately while playing Lord of the Rings Online. It's been happening so often that I can't even enjoy playing anymore. I've updated my drivers but it still seems to be happening.

Please see my system health report, the BSOD Info, and a DirectX Diagnosis file in the attached .zip folder.

My specs are as follows:

• Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
• The original OS was Vista Ultimate 64-bit
• Vista was a full retail version, Windows 7 was an upgrade installed over Vista.
• Upgraded to Windows 7 last winter.
• I built the system in 2008 and replaced the motherboard, video card, and RAM last winter.

Hi Renee no .dmp files in the zip please follow the procedure below:

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.


To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I did not have a windows/minidump folder. I also do not have a memory.dmp file. I created a minidump folder and followed the instructions provided to set up the small dump file and it still did not generate a .dmp file in the minidump folder when I got a BSOD.

I found several .dmp files in another folder called \Windows\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG. I've attached the most recent of those files, but it is dated Sept 10, 2011 so I'm guessing it does not have details of the most recent BSODs that have occurred in the last two days. Hopefully it will be of some use anyway.

It seems that each time I get a BSOD there is some different technical information listed such as: nvlddmkm.sys, bad pool header, etc.

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for you video card and make sure the old are completely uninstalled before you install the new ones . Driver sweeper is the way to remove them please download the application from here (select the installer):
Please make a system restore point before you do this operation.

When installed reboot into safe mode and run the program from there. Select the nvidia box option and click analyze then clean and reboot the computer back into normal mode. Once there download your Nvidia drivers pack for the link below and install it and let us know if your problem persists. If not then please mark the post as solved.
