Hi I hope someone can help me, I am new to all of this error reporting but I've tried to use the web to find answers before coming here, and I hope I have attached all the necessary files:

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit version, here's a rough look at my system:

8gb ddr 3 1600 (part no. CT2KIT51264BA160B - not sure that's any help)
AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2ghz CPU
ATI HD6700 GPU
ASUS M5A97 PRO AMD 970 (SOCKET AM3+) MOTHERBOARD
Line 6 Toneport UX2 Soundcard (usb interface)

I am not overclocking anything and my PC runs a ton of applications fine, I use it to record live music via my toneport soundcard and I edit and render videos with Sony Vegas fine, I just get a BSOD when using any games within 1 to 2 hours.

I have tried clean drivers for my GPU, even using a driver sweeper software from safe mode. I have tried to check that all my drivers are up to date in fact.

I have plenty of free space on my hard drive, and my PC case is very cool, the temps are around 28-30 degrees for the board and cpu at idle and 30-38 at load.

the gpu temps are 56 degrees max when playing games etc.

I've tried everything except dropkicking it! I see a lot of errors like mine but I don't have the skills to solve this puzzle, please help!

Thanks for reading this

Pete

PS. All the components bar the CPU are less than 6 months old, free from dust and securely fastened!

Welcome to Sevenforums; I hope we can be of assistance. Bear with me as this takes a bit of time to digest all the information in the bug report you filled out; usually ~20-30 minutes. I will try to post the most relevant information first.

Please remove any CD/DVD virtualization software, such as Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, as they use a driver called sptd.sys that is known to cause BSODs. Use the sptd.sys uninstaller

I prefer TotalMounter as my CD/DVD virtualization software as it allows me to burn images to a virtual CD/DVD if I just want an ISO file instead of a disc, and it is free.

Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor as well, which is also free.

Also, as your BSODs are related to memory corruption/system file issues, run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
Also, run an elevated command prompt and type:
chkdsk /r c:
chkdsk /r d:
etc. for all drives with program files and system files.

Update the driver or remove the hardware/software that uses L6TPortB64.sys for toneport (if you don't know what it is, google it, and if all else fails, remove all hardware attached to your computer except the mouse, keyboard, and monitor). See Community: Toneport UX2 Drivers Will Not Install on Windows 7 RC1 64bit.

If the above fails, since it is possible it is a memory issue: Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial.

If memory checks out, run Driver verifier to determine any other bad drivers:
1. Backup your system and user files
2. Create a system restore point
3. If you do not have a Windows 7 DVD, Create a system repair disc
4. Run Driver Verifier

If Windows cannot start in normal mode with driver verifier running, start in safe mode. If it cannot start in safe mode or normal mode, restore the system restore point using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html OPTION TWO.

Thanks to zigzag3143 for contributing to the above steps.

Hi,

thanks for your time - I am going to run the chkdsk utilities now, I've updated the toneport driver to the latest version and I've gotten rid of sptd.sys and daemon tools etc.

After running sfc /scannow the following message was recieved:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I'll get back to this tomorrow, as it's the middle of the night where I am. Thanks again!

I've run chkdsk and it found no errors on my drives, I am going to try and play SW:ToR this morning and if/when it crashes I will run memtest86

Just for additional information, you have a lot of side-by-side errors with three programs:
1. Re-install the following:
2. Install any updates to the programs in 1.
3. Uninstall and reinstall skype, AMD Install Manager and all AMD software, ATI HD6700 display driver, and Microsoft Security Essentials.

The above may or may not be related to your blue screens, but it will help optimize your computer's performance.

Hi,

I've followed those instructions, I've had a day free from BSOD so far. Let's see if it stays that way! Thanks again!

If the problem still persists may i suggest checking your ram? I've had similar crashes as you had and i got ram errors in memtest.

It took a day of playing but it's finally blue screened, I'm running memtest86 at the moment, is it worth uploading the dump file as a new attachment afterwards?

There do not appear to be any new dmp files. It may not have been able to create one when it crashed. Do you remember if the message that appeared was similar to the old ones?

It was the same message, I then removed my Line6 Soundcard (the usb one) and reverted to using the onboard realtek soundcard. I just got another BSOD after 45 minutes of play on SW:ToR and it said something about amdppm.sys driver. I will try to get the dump file.

That had your perfmon report and the executable for getting the dmp files. I think you attached the wrong file.

Your latest blue screen was system related. How old is your Windows 7 installation, and how old is the overall system hardware?

I bought the mainboard, gfx card and ram in october/november, last system install was November I believe. I could do a new install, it's not that big a deal, I have another machine to use while I do so.

the cpu is about 3 years old, but it's got a brand new cooler on it, the case is also new, everything runs really cool. the hard disks are about 2 years old.
