My computer has been working fine for almost a year now, and the BSOD just started two days ago while playing Skyrim. I thought it was just Skyrim, so I stopped playing that and just left it for a while. Today, my computer got the BSOD during normal flash gaming, and then again 30 or so minutes later when I was trying to post here. I have no idea what's causing it, but I would really appreciate help!

Hello & welcome to our Forum.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I'm in school currently, but it's almost over. When I get home and have access to some real internet I'll see if updating the driver helps, and post an update for it. Thanks for the help so far!

EDIT:

Quick question, how do I go about updating the driver? I don't have any money to pay for any type of automatic system driver updater, and I'm not exactly computer savvy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go to Broadcom.com the Company concerned.
Search for the latest driver there. { refer the name in my post 4.}

It is painless even on dialup. Go to Broadcom, download the driver (its small) and double-click to install it.

It didn't stop. My computer was playing fine since I updated, and I thought it solved. However, I just opened my computer from sleep mode, and upon trying to log in I bluescreened. I had typed 3-4 letters of my pass, then it did it.

After removing avg as my partner JMH suggests you should also remove daemon tools.

Related to dtsoftbus01.sys Virtual Bus Driver from DT Soft Ltd

Please remove any CD visualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, called sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads DuplexSecure - FAQ

when you're done you can use this Freeware:

MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM (MagicDisc) in its place

Using MagicISO to create ISO image files

I see you have AVG.
AVG can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S .
Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

I can't remove it, as it's the payed for version. I won't be able to reinstall it, and I really don't want to lose it. I don't have any money for rebuying it, and frankly I don't want to waste money on rebuying it...

Disclaimer.
I too use AVG paid for version on 3 Laptops here.
Your licence is transferable.
All that was suggested was that you remove your AVG to test IF it is indeed the cause of your BSOD's. { As indicated in the analysis.}
At the end of the test you are welcome to reinstall it complete with your existing licence.

I removed the Daimon Tools and installed the version you gave me, and I'm happy for all your help. I'm just going to hold out on removing AVG for a bit and see if I get another blue screen.
