Hey guys,

I'm getting very frequent BSOD when playing The Witcher 3, it used to run very well, just couple of freeze here and there, now, I can't even play 5 minutes without the computer crashing, rebooting itself.

Using BlueScreenView, I get there errors:

And here's the ZIP file of the debug:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cb29bxmklowa85o/TZUR-PC-Sun_06_28_2015_142609_69.zip?dl=0

I'm using the latest GPU drivers, MOBO Bios, Win updates - tried uninstalling and reinstalling GPU drivers, didn't help.

Using Intel stock cooler, and can only run Prime95 for 2 minutes before temperatures reach 100 degrees.
I've reapplied thermal paste and CPU runs at 28-32 when idle. I didn't get any errors during that run, I'm afraid of letting it run more than that since the temperatures are not advised :zip:

Also ran FurMark test for 10 minutes or so, here is the screenshot:

Would appreciate any help! :cool:

Hey again,

I seem to have fixed the BSOD problem by uninstalling the Nvidia drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode, then installing the drivers again.

But now I'm facing a new issue. Screens sometimes go black for 2 seconds and then fire up again and I can see a message that says
Code:
Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Now, I've Googled it prior to posting here, and I did what was advised, editing the registry to change the TDR, but it doesn't seem to have fix the issue.
Is there anything else I can do in order to fix it?

I'm running on
AsRock Z97M Anniversary
i5 4590
4x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws
Samsung SSD + Seagate HDD
GTX 970 4GB
Corsair CX 600
* Nothing is overclocked.

Thanks!

Hello, TzurH Please upload the BSOD Posting Instructions http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html. Upload the files here, this will tell you how. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

Also, please add your PSU under system Specs in the bottom left of your last post. Please also add the Manufacturer and model of your components. It will help us to help you.

You would be doing yourself a big favor if you didn't search the internet and try every 'solution' you find. You can very easily mess your operating system up doing that. Every computer is different and the same problem will have a different reason for each computer.

For starters, please reinstall your graphics drivers following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html Install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver only.

Added to my previous post.

Done.

I followed Microsoft instructions from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2665946

For starters, please reinstall your graphics drivers following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html Install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver only.
Done, it fixed the BSOD I was getting but I'm still getting the "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" problem.

Appreciate the help!

Ok, you had 3 dump files. 2 were the same and the other blamed the same thing, your video driver. 2 were

Code:
[COLOR=red]VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)[/COLOR]
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa801011b4e0, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff88005105128, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).
Arg3: ffffffffc000009a, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the last failed operation.
Arg4: 0000000000000004, Optional internal context dependent data.

A video TDR (Time Delay and Response) simply means the driver crashed and did not recover in the required time. I imagine you know that but thought I would throw it out just in case. The other dump was

Code:
BugCheck D1, {74, 2, 0, fffff88004bab8de}
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
[COLOR=red]Probably caused by : nvlddmkm.sys[/COLOR] ( nvlddmkm+39e8de )

Please monitor your CPU and GPU temps while gaming. Also, please go into BIOS and give me the values of the +12V, +5V and +3.3V. If you are overclocking anything, please set it back to default levels.

Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

I also notice you have Dameon Tools installed. That is a well known cause of BSODs and instability. Please uninstall it. This will make sure you have it all uninstalled.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.

2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:

- Double click the executable to open it

- Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

Also, please make sure all of your windows updates are currently up to date. It should be, but go here and make sure you have the latest version of Direct X, How to install the latest version of DirectX
