BSOD playing World of Warcraft, error 0x00000109

Hello there

I have had the same error caused by the driver file: ntoskrnl.exe

This error occurs constantly whilst I am playing World of Warcraft for around an hour, before I get a BSOD with the same error each time. I have updated my drivers to the latest version, if there is any other information you require then please say

Hello again

I ran MemTest86 earlier on, it had found multiple errors after I left it running for an hour. However, I do not know what to do with this information, as I do not want to open my laptop to replace the RAM sticks, as it will void my warranty, would the best idea being to contact my warranty provider (SquareTrade) to see if they will cover this?

If you have altered any timings or voltage options in the BIOS then this can damage RAM and render it faulty, then this will void your warranty.

If you haven't changed any timings, changed or altered any hardware and your Laptop is still covered under the warranty then yes your manufacturers must replace it or give you a refund. This is under the Sale of Goods act.

I can't say I have heard of SquareTrade before, did you buy the laptop online or in a shop?
If you bought it from a shop then take it back down and explain the RAM inside is faulty.
If you bought it online then I would contact the manufacturer and explain the RAM is faulty through no fault of your own.

Yeah, I purchased the laptop from Ebuyer.com, the warranty was provided by Squaretrade through Ebuyer, however I am unsure if I would still be covered by acer themselves as it has been over 1 year now, do the original manufacturer's make exceptions for cases like this?

hmm, it depends how long the RAM has been faulty, in most cases it is 1 year parts and 3 years labour cover. So to be honest I think it will cost.
Some manufacturers can make exceptions, it depends on the mood they're I guess.
You may as well give it a shot.
IF not then you would be best replacing the RAM yourself.
