Solved BSOD playing WoW, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

Hi,

I started having BSODs at the end of September any time I would load into a new zone while playing World of Warcraft. My interface would start to glitch out or not load properly, and then my sound would stop, leading into the BSOD. I seemed to alternate between the errors "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR" and "CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION" but BlueScreenView shows that they were all being caused by ntoskrnl.exe. After a few days, they stopped, and I played for a month straight without one BSOD. But as of last night, the problem is back.

System Specs:
ASUS P5KPL-CM
Q6600 @ 2.9ghz
EVGA 560 GTX
4GB DDR2 RAM
500GB HDD

I have been told this could be caused by a failing hard drive or RAM, but I have run several CHKDSK and Memtests with no errors. I have also tried replacing my RAM, and it still did not fix the error.

Both your bugchecks are related to storage/hard drive.

If you have a SSD, update to the latest firmware for it.

Upload a screenshot of your hard disk using crystal disk info and HDD Health:

Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

Hard drive test both short and long with:

For HDD Health, this is all that came up in the main window. When I tried to show the Extended Drive Info, this error popped up.

I also ran the CHKDSK again, and it showed no errors.

Please proceed with the seatools test and let us know the results.

One more thing,

For monitoring the heat/celsius of the system, use Speccy or HWinfo:

• Speccy - System Information - Free Download
• CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Please post a snip of S.M.A.R.T results on the Hard Drives tab using speccy.

What antivirus are you using?

Test your hard drive with WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD Blue / SE / SE16 (SATA II)

The drive passed the Seatools tests and the WinDlg test.

Yes, everything seems to be running at a stable temperature, even while I'm running the game.

Okay.

Lets enable driver verifier. Its used for identifying issues with any old/buggy drivers.

Verifier needs to be enabled for about 36 hours. Upload all the .dmps you get while its enabled.

Okay, so here are all the dumps from the last couple of days of running the driver verifier.

The only BSODs I got were from trying to run World of Warcraft, just like before.

Click on the Start rb: ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; NVIDIA. REBOOT. Delete remnants of its drivers/older drivers using Driver Fusion/Sweeper REBOOT
Download and install the following drivers from filehippo:

BTW, I think you should take seatools for DOS.

Alright, so I think I fixed the problem...

After doing a complete removal and fresh install of the latest NVIDIA drivers, I tried booting up the game to see if that had fixed the BSODs, but it did not. After doing a little bit of research on nvlddmkm.sys, I was able to find some people that had similar problems with BSODs and crashes in their own games. Most of them were able to solve it by lowering some of the clocks on their gpu. So I started up EVGA Precision, lowered the clocks on my card, and now everything is running fine.
