BSOD please help!

It has something to do with " atikmdag.sys " which i have no idea what it is :cry: , problems been occurring for about a month now. Didn't think it was that much of a big deal because the system would restore itself after the BSOD, however i'm in year 12 now and its really annoying me with the constant BSOD's due to the loss of my 2000 word assignment recently. I'm not a computer fanatic so i decided to ask the professionals, thanks in advance! :)

Apparently it the display driver crash. Uninstall and reinstall the display driver.

uninstall the following programs

  • Catalyst control Center
  • MSI AfterBurner
Free up the startup.


  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
The BIOS is old. If possible, search for updates.
