I have been getting BSOD's at least 2-3 times a month. It is very scary and frustrating please help! Maybe checking my PC specs or my antivirus would help because i also heard having more than 1 antivirus can cause a BSOD. My operating system is 64 bit. I have been switching my ativiruses from AVG, Ad-Aware, to Malwarebytes. Idk what the real problem is any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you. :(

I ran all the anti-viruses, and there were not really any threats. I also ran the disk check and the file check and everything seemed to be in order. Here are my dump files.

Hmm have a look at what Golden has suggested and maybe you could run this too as I take it the machine is of some vinatge.

MEMTEST

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.htmlthis one you will need to make a bootable disk set the BIOSto optical (or USB if preferred) boot the machine and let it run for at LEAST 8passes unless the errors come up straight away. Takes fair time to complete andsome leave it running overnight.

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who have helped me. I really appreciate everyting. I apologize for not responding for a while but I have been caught up in other stuff. I am not 100% sure, but I think the problem must be faulty RAM. I have tried everything else to test if it is bad except the awesome Memtest84 program which I couldn't use because it seems impossible to get it to read USB on boot. I am quite bad when it comes to stuff like that.

Anyways, I have found that this RAM will be the best for my very old rig. I know ddr2 is bad but I'm not building a new PC, I'm just replacing broken hardware. Here is a link to the RAM I am thinking of buying. I will also put my specs at the end of this message.

4GB kit (2GBx2), 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-6400 upgrades for ASUS P5QL PRO Motherboard, CT871159 from Crucial.com

Please tell me your thoughts because I really don't want to buy a bad item.

Sincerely,

Frigasaca

2GB EVGA GTX 550 Ti, Asus P5QL PRO Motherboard, 3gb of Kingston ram, 500gb hardrive, an Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Processor Q6600, 750 Watt power supply. I am running this on Windows 7, 64 Bit

frigasaca, According to the link you provided, Crucial guarantees the ram to be compatible with your motherboard. However, It is usually a bad mistake to spend money on something that you do not know is bad.. I seriously recommend you run memtest86+ as has been suggested. That's the only way to know for sure. Place the usb in the computer, go into BIOS, go to boot order and set the 1st boot device to the USB drive. When the test has completed, go back to bios- boot order and set it back like it is right now. Let the test run overnight for a full 8 passes or until you get errors. If you get an error, you can stop the test.

The error you had is a general hardware error and could be many things. Are you overclocking anything? if so, set everything to default values.

Have you installed any hardware or software recently? If so, please let us know what it is.

May I suggest this
PSU- Jump Start

for a reference
PowerSupply 101: A Reference Of Specifications - Power Supplies asyou will see there is a +/- 5% variance that can make all the difference so11.4v is way too low and 12.6v way too high.

If the machine is that old then maybe this could be a problem and also the mobo mate as I have just been fixing an older DDR2 machine and the volts according to Speccy and CPUID HWMonitor are out of whack.
The other thing I found is too that the fan headers are not getting the correct volts from the 24 pin input that is the 24 pin volts are ok but the headers are not and at least 0.5v down on what they should be. Now it may be that your RAM is not getting the correct power (volts) or anything else for that matter.

Maybe worth checking out what volts are on the board but do not use an analogue multimeter for this as they inject volts to diagnose!!

I haven't installed any hardware except for one time before the random bluescreens and restarts were happening I tried a stick of RAM my friend had which wasn't compatible nor did it work. For software, only antiviruses that I've been going through to make sure it wasn't a virus. That was after I started having problems. But I uninstalled all the antiviruses except for 1. When I ran Furmark it ran at 8fps and my GPU temp kept rising and it kept flashing white patches on the top and bottom of my screen every second so I stopped the test after 30 seconds. I don't know if that's bad or not. I'm running SeaTools at the moment but nothing has come up for that so far. My computer isn't overclocked so that can't be the problem. I just get so frustrated knowing I can't even buy a new PC if i never resolve this problem
Ill try to get Memtest to run but the motherboard screen stays for like a second so i cant read anything. First world problems :p

frigasaca, first, please tell me what Brand, model and Wattage your PSU is. Second, What you describe as 'white specs' during Furmark are called artifacts and means your video card is having issues. That should not happen. Furmark is a video card stress test. Any stress test is designed to make your temps rise rapidly How high did thet rise? Please go to Nvidia and see if you have the latest WHQL driver installed. If not download it to your desktop and advise us, and we will tell you how to install it. With memtest86+ go here and half way down the page are the downloads. Go to the 4.20 version. The 5th one down is 'Auto Installer for USB key', download it and it will automativally install it to a USB thumb drive you have connected. It will erase everything on it, so save any contents somewhere to replace when finished. Leave the USB drive connected to your computer, go to bios, then boot options. Select the USB key as 1st boot device, save and exit, memtest should start. run 8 full passes (it will take quite a few hours, so best to run it at night) Run it until it says 8 passes or until you get an error. It will tell you. If you get an error, you can stop the test by pressing the escape button; the test failed. After the test is completed, return to where you were in bios and set your boot order the way it is was before you selected the USB drive as 1st boot device. Save and exit.

I got memtest working and I ran it at 8 passes, twice. There was one error the first time, and none the second. Before I did the second test I took out my RAM modules and then put them back in.

It means your graphics card is a good possibility, but
it could also be other problems. In your system specs it says 2 sticks of 2 and 1 GB ram. If you are running mis matched ram, the ram could also be the problem. I'd also like to know your readings of your PSU's +12V, +5V and + 3.3V.

How do you suggest I test my PSUs Volts? Or what is the best guide and easiest way. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this.
