Hey Scott,

Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you here as well.

Is the driver up to date? Check on the companies website, as they may have released an update. Also, are you up to date with the windows 7 updates?

And when you say that your computer automatically shut down, why? Did it run a scan then shutdown? Or was it an unexplained shutdown.

If it was unexplained, then it could have been caused by malware, and you might want to do some scans with Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D, just to be sure. If you are infected, try and clean it up, and post the log to this site.

Let us know when you get all of that squared away,
Ben

Network related errors are often caused by Anti-virus. I suggest removing AVG for the time being: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/avg_arm_sup_____.dir/avgremover.exe

Replace it with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Your Conextant Modem drivers are outdated:
Code:
HSX_CNXT.sys Fri Dec 22 14:48:52 2006
HSX_DPV.sys Fri Dec 22 14:50:21 2006
HSXHWAZL.sys Fri Dec 22 14:49:02 2006

This is your nVidia network adapter driver:
Code:
nvm62x32.sys Fri Oct 17 17:00:39 2008
As you can see, it should be updated.

Please keep us posted.

Hi guys.

I have removed AVG and installed MSE.

is it really necessary for me to update my connextant drivers, and the nvidia ones?

I have no idea whatsoever why it shut down originally, there are issues with my battery, possibly that?

all i really want to do is get my wireless working again, I have run malware and Spybot S&D and removed some bits, but no result

Scott

You can try taking one suggestion at a time. If it doesn't work, move on to the next driver, etc.
