Hi.

I read BSOD posting Instructins but I don't understand how this related to my problem,
I cannot get into Windows because Of BSOD than how I can use "SF Diagnostic Tool" and "SF Debug Tool"?

Can you boot into http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html ?

The driver that is failing is the Storage Controller. So if you cannot boot at all, in any mode, there is a mere possibility to salvage the windows installation.

So if you can boot into safe mode, execute the SF Diag tool there and upload it. Even if you cannot access safe mode too, let us know that.

First of all, you should install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats.

The BSOD is caused by JMicron JMB368 Controller.

Update it to the latest WHQL from ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/SATA_Controller/Windows/

Depending on the age of the computer, it is difficult to say that it is the only issue there. Sol et us know how the computer is running after the driver update.

Hi,

What do I have to specify. My situation is the like before. I'm getting BSOD with the same info.
I updated everything what I was told, and nothing changed.

P.S.

When I tried to update (ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/SATA_Controller/Windows/ ) jraid,sys I've got a message:

No JMmicron JMB36X SCSI adapter found! Setup program will terminate!

Now that is odd, because that is the one which crashed and caused the BSOD.

Get prepared for a clean install. Boot into the BIOS, and set the storage controller mode to AHCI. If there is any JMicron option, disable it.

Then perform a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html .... which will install windows with keeping JMicron aside (and it is not anything needed at all).

Hi,

Something changed, now. After restarting I've got to the Welcome screen and after this, I'm getting black empty screen with a mouse cursor which I can move but nothing else.
When I went to Save Mode, I got inside a Windows.

P.S.

I didn't install new Windows yet. I really will prefer to heal this one which I have already.

That is possible if you can update the JMicron SATA driver.

Windows boots with the only storage controller mode with which it was installed natively. And so if any surgery can put JMicron away, it might do the scenario worst.

The best option is a clean install; and it will discriminate between a hardware issue and a software issue.

Hi,

What about if I will uninstall Windows Updates (in Save Mode) and after this I will use disk with newer version of Windows to update Windows
Is there anyway to put (install) JMicron SATA driver in Windows manually?
Maybe this question is stupid but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Thz in advance for any help.

P.S.
I really don't want to loose my old Windows !!!

Why not? You may try it :)

Is not it what you reported in post 9? Did not you try to install the driver?

If you want, no data will be lost. You can back them all up; even if you cannot boot into windows.
And, IMHO it would be much easier to install windows and other programs to try to fix it from the present state, provided there is no hardware error.

It is easy to say, to start everything from the beginning and make a clean install, but I really spent a time to set up the computer in a way that will work for me. In the end, I got it, but after some time this problem appeared.
I'm still trying, because it is very important for me to save this setting and do not loose anything what I have in my computer (applications, configuration .....) :cry:

What kind of strange question is this?
You think that every time when something is wrong reinstall System is just only solution. For what purpose is this Forum if we can just do clean install and start everything from zero?

The purpose of the forum is to help mutually. One will suggest, the other will apply the suggestion. My suggestion of 6th February:

View attachment 321954

Your reply on 8th February:

View attachment 321956

Your situation on 15th June:

View attachment 321955

If you have really followed the suggestion given on 6th February, the timestamp of the driver would have changed . The download says....
Code:
;Copyright (C) JMicron Technology Corp.

[Version]
Signature="$Windows NT$"
Provider=%JMICRON%
ClassGUID={4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Seeing it I thought you cannot install a driver. Nothing of shame in it. Many a people cannot follow instructions. Everybody is not equally computer savvy. So I thought a clean reinstall as suggested in post #10 would be good for you; as it makes the installation driver complete by itself. Your effort will not be needed.

But unfortunately you reacted. :sarc: :(
