BSOD / Random crashes while browsing, other simple tasks

In the last few months, my homebuilt system has begin crashing / BSing at seemingly random times: web browsing, document editing, etc. It will occasionally come out of standby on its own, and crash sometime during the night. Many times it will simply crash with a scrambled screen (not BSOD) and the reboot two or three times on its own before completely booting into windows. It will also go days, sometimes weeks, without a crash. Attached is my zip file. It may not have a lot of collected data, as I ran CCleaner recently, but hopefully it is helpful. Thank you for any assistance with this.

Another test you can run is a RAM test with Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

you will need to make a bootable disk and set the BIOS to boot from the optical drive but try the scans first as this one takes a while to do.


oh and some system specs mate is always helpful - mobo HDD RAM etc etc

Please uninstall DAEMON Tools. It uses a driver called sptd.sys which is known to cause BSODs in Windows 7. Uninstall the software using Add/Remove Programs. Reboot the system. Once the program is uninstalled, run sptd.sys uninstaller to remove the driver from your system.

As an alternative, many people recommend the use of Total Mounter or Magic ISO
