The required files are attached..

New laptop, 2 weeks old.. no problems till today, but have suddenly had lots of crashes. No new hardware... no new software... no obvious way to trigger BSOD either.

Acer Aspire 5755g laptop

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64bit
- the original installed OS on the system? Original OS
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- What is the age of system (hardware)?
2 weeks
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) no reinstall

Many thanks for any help guys!

Hello,

As surprising as this may sound, I suspect a hardware problem. Run a few hardware diagnostics, let's see if we can find out exactly what part is causing the trouble. The most likely candidates are RAM and motherboard here.

Run all three Prime95 tests: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100352-hardware-stress-test-prime95.html

Also run Memtest86: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Thanks. I haven't had a chance to run those tests yet with travelling over New Years etc.. but I did run a sfc /scannow check a few times and came up with the following. Could this help diagnose the problem?

Thanks!

Probably not, to be honest. It may just be another sign of yet unidentified hardware trouble, though.

Ran memtest86 and found the culprit to be one of my ram modules. Have removed it and been crash free for a couple days now.

Many thanks for your help!
