Hi All,

This is my first post on this forum.

I have been having (recently more frequent) BSOD events on my small laptop PC. After reboot, the Event Viewer shows a Critical Event 41 (Kernel-Power). I am hoping I can get guidance on what to do with this.

It happens randomly and does not appear to be related to any particular program.

Note: I previously had my laptop set to hibernate when the screen is closed down and running on batteries. The other day, I found my laptop to still be on when I drove from my office to home and it was running hot. I have since changed the behaviour to be "sleep".

As per BSOD posting instructions, here are the details of my machine and the attached files for review.

1. Windows7_BSOD_jcgriff2
2. Performance Monitor Report

Computer: Acer Timeline Aspire 1810T, 4GB RAM, 300GB HDD
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, OEM load
System is about 6-7 months old.
No reload of original OS.

Cheers...Kent

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am unloading my Blackberry programs right now. I will look on the Acer site to see if there is a new Intel driver. I will run CCleaner afterwards to clear out any left over registry entries.

As for the Hibernation, that was more a hunch as I mentioned that my system actually stayed on a couple of days ago when I closed the flap. I am trying it on SLEEP for now.

Cheers...Kent

Careful with CCleaner and the other registry cleaners. They usually do more harm than good.

Go ahead and clean out temporary files with CCleaner, but avoid the registry part like the plague.
