Random BSOD (Custom PC)

Started happening around a week or two ago. Was once a day or two but today it happened 2 times within 15 min...

Note: Not sure if this has anything to do with it but my C drive (mass storage), is always off for some reason (no disk spinning sound) and when i open the drive it lags and I hear whirring of the disk and then it loads. Not sure why this is happening.

Hello, krynox. I will see if I can help you. You had 2 dump files in what you uploaded. This is what both of them said.

Code:
[COLOR=red]WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)[/COLOR]
A fatal hardware error has occurred. Parameter 1 identifies the type of error
source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the
WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error condition.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, Machine Check Exception
Arg2: fffffa80086e7028, Address of the WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure.
Arg3: 00000000bf800000, High order 32-bits of the MCi_STATUS value.
Arg4: 0000000000000124, Low order 32-bits of the MCi_STATUS value.

This is a generic message that says that you have a hardware error but it gives no indication as to what it is. It is important that you fill out your system specs as complete as possible and include the PSU and CPU cooler. Please give manufacturer and model for each component. This may help you.
Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

Please go to your Motherboard's web site and update all of your drivers.

Also update your Graphics card driver, but do it like this please.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

After you have done that,

Please Run Memtest86+
picture.php

   Information
Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

Is there any other way to do RAM test? Like prime95?

No, you have to have one of them to run the test. You have to boot into the USB flash drive or CD. The test runs from that not inside Windows like Prime95. You can buy a USB or CD for a couple of dollars.

Alright. I went out and bought a USB. Will be running the test over night ~12 hours and I'll post the results.

I can see one thing right off. You have 2 very different kinds of ram installed. Different manufacturer's and different speeds, and different timings it appears. please download, if you don't already have it, CPUz
CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID and post screenshots of the CPU, mainboard, Memory and SPD tabs. You can select each dim slot from a dropdown on the upper left. Pleas send just the dim slots with the 2 sticks of ram.

It is never a good idea to mix ram, even from the same manufacturer much less different ones.

Ohhh I see. Yeah one of them is Corsair Vengeance and the other is Corsair Ripjaw. I took one out from my old computer because I needed more ram for a game.

Here are the screen shots:

Should I take the Ripjaw out?

You need a set of ram. You are going to have to take one out. You are really running both out of spec. But you need a set to run in dual channel mode. Take the Ripjaws out, boot straight into bios and set the ram to XMP values. You are also overclocked. Please set everything back to default levels. Also, it is much easier on us if you post screenshots here. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

One of them is 1866 frequency and the other is 1333. I don't believe the timings are right for either one of them.

If you take one out and run the other at Manufacturer's specs and have no BSODs, then you will know. Then buy a set of ram that is compatible with your board and run the set and the set only.
