I have been having numerous BSOD's lately. They vary and there is a message at the end that memory dump failed with status 0xC0000010.

Todays BSOD had: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003 0x8F5F219C 0X82E62D60)

The only thing that I can think of is the hard drive upgrade I did to the Samsung M8 1TB 2.5 inch 5400 RPM SATA II. I dont remember 100% but I recall that the BSOD's started there - a clean install of Windows was done then. They often happen overnight but it has happened at day as following: The computer freezes whilst doind a seemingly simple thing eg web browsing. It is like a slow freeze, first the task bar freezes then the web browser and after about 30 secs a BSOD. I have tried to research and have found that large drives could have a problem with sleep and there was a hotfix, but the hotfix says my system doesnt need it.

Any advice really appreciated.

p.s I did have BSOD trouble on this system very long ago and this was successfully diagnosed on here as Symantec related. I now use MSE.

Thanks. I had run that test already. I dont know if connected, but the Samsung software only runs in safemode. In normal mode it hangs at scanning drives.

To the best of my knowledge it should not hang in normal mode.

The driver identified is the usbhub.sys which is a Windows driver and not likely the actual cause.

There are a lot of errors in the application event logs.
A lot of these, uninstall these cell phone apps and then download and install the newest versions.

Go to Device Manager, look for any yellow triangles, these indicate a program or driver that is not working correctly.
Uninstall the device, program and driver.
Go to the corresponding device or program website and download the latest driver or program and install it.

SPTD.SYS the second biggest cause of BSoDs, used by daemon tools and alcohol120.
Remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.
They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.
Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads
You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.
Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview

You have had a lot of Windows update failures, a lot of USB related failures.
Check the Dell website for updated drivers, install all drivers that are newer than your current drivers.

DAve76, thats exactly what I did a few BSOD's ago to "prepare" for the upcoming ones. Problem seems to be that the system is failing to write a mini dump with message : memory dump failed with status 0xC0000010

Many thanks. I will follow your instructions although the mini dump was quite old.

Is there any easy way to update the drivers?

You might try the Dell Community Forum, they might have information on some usable drivers, since a quick check showed that Dell hasn't provided any Windows 7 drivers for your laptop.

Just do a search on their forum for your laptop model number and Windows 7 drivers.

I have pretty the same problem here.

Got a MacBook Pro Early 2011, Core i7 QuadCore 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM.
The only thing that's not original Apple hardware is my Samsung M8 and I also got these random BSODs.
I have already reinstalled Windows with no luck, the BSODs have reappeared.

It seems like something in the chain of transmissions to the hard drive is failing - be it either a driver or something in the hardware. First I suspected MacDrive, but the problem also persists with Paragon HFS.

The BSODs always happen - IF they happen - when there's little load on the hardware, eg browsing the internet, watching videos on Youtube, writing mails in Outlook or doing NOTHING etc. It has never happened when I was in a gaming session, which quite often last at least several hours.
When a BSOD is on the way, one after another application starts to hang whenever they try to read or write to the disk until everything is freezed except the mouse. It takes about 1-3 minutes after that until the BSOD appears.
The BSOD crashdumper doesn't seem to be able to write to the disk as well because it also hangs as soon as it kicks in.
Windows starts normal as if nothing happened and doesn't remember the BSOD.

As I know many people who use a multiboot Mac computer (which I installed personally) and it works fine with them, I assume it IS the unapproved hardware - in this case the Samsung M8 Hard Drive -, that's causing the BSODs.

I have already ordered a WD Scorpio blue 1TB, which should arrive soon, in order to verify my suspicion.
I'll keep you updated as soon as soon as I know more.
